i fuckin love that 70's show. That epsidoe particulatly. Its a classic "FEZ" moment

those 'two in one' units (DVD player and VCR in the same console) still seem to quite common. Watch for them around Xmas and Father's Day in sale flyers, they usually have the "get dad/grandpa a gift!" tagline : ) also, ION (the company that sells a cheap turntable w/USB-out combo for vinyl to mp3 conversion) has been selling a rather clunky VCR w/ video conversion software bundle.

    • IronMaidenfront.jpg

Indeed. Now I hope they continue to make VHS players. I had two that both died almost at the same time, it seemed. Taking out a couple of VHS movies along with them in their deaths.

    • IronMaidenfront.jpg

there's a dangerous myth, even among movie fans, that "everything" has been re-released on DVD...which is far, far, far from the truth. There are so many great movies (old movies, weird/underground horror films, etc) that are only available on VHS, if at all. I say keep your prized VHS stuff, and make DVD-Rs of those you which to watch often.

I found it on eBay, you've just gotta keep your eyes open :D

    • IronMaidenfront.jpg

Oh wow.....that's a pretty crazy concept..."never had to rewind anything". Altho, I admit I've never seen an 8 track up close and personal. But I love me some vinyl. And I have a pretty nice collection of VHS movies. People are always telling me I should get rid of them too.

      Definitely a favorite, for sure!

Simply one of the best album covers ever IMO.

      The fork is beautifully original.

    • P1080116.JPG

Reminds me of that episode of That 70's Show where the print up the shirts for TAD Nugent. Classic!

    • vest.jpg

Good work on that vest dude! I was gonna get that pestillence back patch too but I got no room. Lovin the light denim, THRASH ON!!!!

yeah...I think 'Colony' was the last one I actually played quite a bit. Tried to get into 'Clayman' (even saw them live twice in support of that album)...but the magic was gone. Same w/ Dark Tranquility around that time

    • bez tytułu.PNG

They used to be heavy, lol

    • IronMaidenfront.jpg

it's awesome to see generations of human beings that have never seen or have no familiarity w/ vinyl records. I even quipped once on www.twitte...tureofnone : 'It's funny....we have entire generations of young people that have never had to "rewind" anything.'....referring of course to those who have never used VHS or Beta or audio cassettes, only DVDs and digital streaming : ) Which reminds me, I have a Black Sabbath Vol 4 8-Track tape I need to post...

its a vinyl 7" record ... you need a record player , probably one that will play on 45 RPM ( Revolutions Per Miniute) . 1 . place the needle of the record player ( usually a diamond or sapphire ) arm, onto the outer groove of the vinyl record . 2 . behold the music that plays ... as the vinyl record spins and the arm/needle follows the groove cut into the vinyl, and after amplification. not to be condecending , but thats roughly how records work.

    • Not sure about the year, I picked a longsleeve of this up in '97 though

    • DSC_0400.JPG

      Indeed.

    • Lock up your children From Destruction found Lurking in their minds The pain starts to pound kick ass.

    • DSC00647.JPG

      HOLY SHIT IS RIGHT!

    • P1080140.JPG

The cover was an obvious play on The Beatles - Meet the Beatles cover. Fantastic record. One of my all time favorites.
