Hey guys!
So this is my Battle Jacket. I started it this year (2014) with the selfmade backpatch of my all-time-favourite german (former punk-) rock-band "die ärzte" which is - now that I mostly listen to metal - still the band that I like most. It was the first band that I ever listened to and the first band that I saw live. The "ä" with the three dots and the crossed bones is the logo of this band and because I embroidered it by hand I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
The backside of the jacket shows the other bands I like. At first I wanted do design the jacket geographically, that means american bands (west) at the left and eastern bands at the rights... and yeah, german bands in the middle. But then there was too few place for all the patches I have until now and so there are some american bands right of some british bands but nevermind.
But all in all I want to keep a symmetric design on the back of my jacket and not only normal new patches of the bands but also some special and old ones. And yes, I have 3-4 bootleg patches (Manowar, Slayer, Opeth, Rammstein) but I couldn't find any that fitted better and that I liked more so I decided to take these.
At the front I have my small collection of Wacken-Patches but I'm sure that this collection will grow over the years. And on the other side there are patches of two of my favorite bands Rammstein and "Die Toten Hosen". Over the pockets (in which I have many small things like needles, yarn, canned beer clips etc. :D) there I have the patches of two german folk-bands "Feuerschwanz" (which is signed by the bandmembers) and "In Extremo" (which I got from a friend :) ). On the left shoulder you can see a patch that shows hammer and sickle and is also a patch of the Anime "Girls und Panzer" which my sister bought for me in Japan. On the right shoulder there is the flag of the state in which I live in Germany (Baden!).
All in all I gave many thoughts while I made this battle jacket and I want to keep it as individual as possible so I removed everything that showed the brand of the jacket like the knobs.
And I'm still working on it! So if you have any helpful suggestions what I could change or do else please let me know!
Greetings
(and btw. in the background you can see the signed setlist of a Sepultura concert at which I have been this year and also a stick from the drummer of Onkel Tom which I got at Wacken this year ^^)

Good start man. I would've put both the Wacken ones on the Pockets or one in each side of the upper chest part, It seems that they fit better in that spot and it opens the rest of the vest for more square shaped patches

Thanks. :) Yeah I already thought about this, I will maybe change this when I got more patches for the front.

Wicked taste, I'm with Raven about the Wacken patches would look cool one on each pocket.

anime patches are the real deal mate. you made my day. even though i didn't like the anime that much, especialy the amount of recap episodes in such a short anime where irritating.
good job on the backpatch too.

Thanks a lot. :) I wanted a patch that shows this sign and one for the anime so this one is perfect. ^_^

Updated it! :)

Where did you get the sign of the hammer?
Yoschi29 on
You can buy that one on nearly every festival here in Germany that sells patches. I'm sure, if you google a little bit you'll find it somewhere cheap.

I need the square version with just the logo and band name

eeh, I don't know if a patch like this exists. Sorry mate.
