While I thought the single was extremely on the "meh" side of things. This shirt looks pretty sweet. Probably their best design in years.

I agree about the single - I hope the rest of the album is better. This one sounds like a leftover track unused from Final Frontier.
The shirt - also meh - I like the full-color album-cover version MUCH better than this all-red version. Looking forward to getting the real deal when they tour next year!!

Listening to it right now. and I feel it's growing on me a bit. Still not elevating itself above "eh, it's okay I guess", but what the hell, I'd sing along in the chorus when I'm drunk.

Hmm I don't know about that. I like this two color design more I think. It Stands out more and makes Eddie look alot more menacing. And about Eddie, wow is this an improvement on the Final Frontier design.

It's not a bad song, just not a great first-single. I liked Wildest Dreams better when it first came out.

I like the full-color version better, myself. But I agree - this Eddie is WAY better than FF, which isn't even Eddie, and way better than MoLaD, and DoD, and even Brave New World. Come to think of it, I like this album cover better than any Maiden album cover since No Prayer!

I can agree on the cover being betetr than Brave New World and Dance of Death. Brave New World was just sort of "there" but didn't stand out much. Dance of Death was a missed opportunity, it could've looked really killer if it had been properly drawn and not rendered in that horrible 3D way. It seemed like all bands where doing those awful 3D-rendered covers in the early 2000's. Did anyone actually think they looked good?

But personally I like A Matter of Life and Death more than this. The chaotic, war torn imagery just fits the album so perfectly.

Dance was horrible. I hated the CG. Eddie looked unlike himself, and "Grim Reaper Eddie" had already been done a number of times already. And those naked mannequins? What was that all about?
MoLaD - I didn't like it. Eddie was way too small in the painting and didn't stand out. It would have been okay either as a single cover or as a Sabaton album cover! But not a Maiden album cover. :-)

Yup, for a t-shirt and a one-track CD single, $12 is a great deal! I tossed the box in the trash. I only mentioned it because someone else was talking about the box earlier in this thread. . .
