Gorgeous piece! At first I wasn't impressed with the front, but when I saw it in person, it popped. The back is just incredible.

Endless flames for that BP!

I had this shirt a while back but sold it after it came clear to me the guys in mystic circle drift to the far right, especially the drummer. I do not listen to them or their music anymore.

Thats why I was extremely happy to get my AEBA longsleeve later on, its the perfect replacement. AND the leader of AEBA dismissed the whole idea of white superiority in an interview as well. So Im happy with that one

Zastrozzi's picture

Thankfully their politics don't reflect or make themselves known in their music. That AEBA is a real gem!

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

well...... Drachenblut is all about praising the 'superman' Siegfried of germanic myth just noting. Also I saw Graf pictured before wearing a giant death'shead pendant. To be GERMAN and do that is definitely a lot more significant than anyone else.

Just curious, but why does it matter what a band's politics are? Not being an asshole, just wondered.

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

It makes a HUGE difference if you are one of those people neo nazis target. I am queer and ive endured having been run off my jobs before and threatened with violence in my physical life. I once had a manager at my job tell me he would beat me up if he found out i was gay. Not long after that i pretty much heard guys in a ukranian bm band trash talking 'faggots' and i said enough of this and threw out their cds.

Thats why it matters. Thats why ive never listened to a dissection or a burzum album ever and never will. They are attacking me and I will fight back

EQA's picture

I'm gay too and I understand where you're coming from... why it means so much to you... but for me personally, preserving art which transcends life and time is more important than the political/ideological quibbles people have.

5
pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

Its hard for art to transcend ideology when that is the inspiration for its creation. To ask black metal to not be anti-chirstian would be absurd.

For me I eventually discovered.... there is always other bands out there that will suffice. I never listened to burzum but instead I discovered Zuriaake who fill that gap. I dont listen to dissection but instead I have Seibenburgen! I tossed out all my nokturnal mortuum cds years ago and instead I now have Aisling and Elffor to make up for that. Im sure there are plenty of ns guys happy to preserve ns bands...
I did once regret having to make that choice, but I discovered it is all remedied by searching deeper and deeper and discovering more and more bands, cds, and demos. In a way I think this is ideal because artists who have long existed as unknown and their great creations are able to be discovered,

EQA's picture

Woo! Pan you sure know how to start a discussion! Never did I imagine that a simple LS would pop off like this haha. You make a really great point though... there's an endless amount of gems out there worth hunting for and there's certainly no reason to show particular reverence to NS bands. At the end of the day there's nothing that could convince me to limit my consumption of art though... I can't condsider myself in any way a good enough person to throw the first stone like that.

I'll have to check out Zuriaake, but if someone who loves black metal can't listen to Burzum, for whatever reason, that's sort of ... I don't know. If people can't listen to black metal because it offends them ... just seems ... All I know is I really hope there doesn't become some sort of politically correct genre of black metal that caters to peoples hurt feelings. Ghaal from Gorgoroth is gay and I bet he's still listening to Burzum. He and Varg will never be friends for many differences beyond the homosexual aspect, but I'm sure they can respect each other's music. I love Ghaal era Gorgoroth. But I understand why people in the black metal scene didn't want that seen as representing black metal. I really don't know the origins of black metal that much, but it seems to me, that Burzum really was the band that breathed life into it. I know that's true to me at least. And if we can't even enjoy the music of one of it's primary founders, maybe it's just not our genre?

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

Let me get this straight, BM does NOT offend me. I love it, I see it as anti-christian, anti-dogma, anti-modernity music that is designed to attack morality, praise occultism, and force people to face the nature of death and dying. I dont listen to burzum because varg 'offended' me. I dont listen because the man is my ideological enemy. You cant expect me as a gay person to think faust or jon are cool musicians despite what they did.

No black metal is entirely one of my primary fav genres of music aside from doom metal. I always keep returning to it. But my very first BM albums were albums from Summoning, Ulver, and the first Dimmu Borgir. None of it was Darkthrone or Mayhem. Though I have some Bathory, Immortal and Emperor albums. But almost all of my collection of metal consists of second wave BM bands. This genre is my favorite metal genre. I dont believe in the idea of 'sensitive' BM because in the end I feel its big key message is anti-christianity.

This is not about hurt feelings. This is about me making a strict statement of my allegiance. I will be proud to be who I am and I will not hold respect for those artists who want to talk shit about people like myself. Its not about comfy feelings its about no compromising of my principles and beliefs.

Damn, sorry to hear all that negative stuff has happened to you. I didn't mean any offense or anything, was just simply curious as different people give different answers. Dissection were never nazi or anti-gay or anything. Jon was accessory to murder but they didn't kill the guy cause he was gay. They did it because they decided to.

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

From what im told they picked the guy because he was perceived as 'an easy target'. The Swedish police determined it was a gay hate murder. Also there is this interview with Abruptum / Opthalamia member All who was a friend of jon and basically the guy praised up and down the murder of gay people and jon's actions. You can read here:
http://panzer.users5.50megs.com/articles/extreme/opthalamia1998legion.htm

Well I appreciate you showed me some respect for why I have my POV. I have not always had metalheads treat me otherwise. Its just a self pride thing, I cant see myself as telling an anti-gay or a nazi metalhead that its ok I like your music and I can just take the abuse. Im concerned with standing for myself and taking pride in myself and I dont bow before people who hate me. Thats just who I am

You are such a LOSER and PUSSY. Reading your nonsens made me laugh so hard. Congrats on that! lol

Come on guys, just enjoy the damn music. Personally, I have no horse in this race, but name calling won't change anyone's mind. We don't need to get Doc involved, do we?

I actually happen to know exactly where that's from, or at least a version of it.

A witless man,
when he meets with men,
Had best in silence abide;
For no one shall find
that nothing he knows,
If his mouth is not open too much.
-Hávamál stanza 27

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

Dah!!!

You know that quote came to me when I was reading those petty replies and I tried to look it up. Of course the internet covered it up as 'unknown' after modernizing it. NOW I remember.
I have a copy of Fruits of Yggdrasil that has Freya Aswyn reading off the Havamal so that must have been where I had read it. Should have known that. :P But my memory is kinda dim, its too preocupied with catalouging bands, labels, releases XD. Then again Im notoriously dense sometimes heh...

You're just a stupid, brainwashed kiddo. Your worthless opinion means nothing.

"Childish comments or being a dickhead in general will have your account deleted without notice, THINK TWICE, keep it about METAL"

Come on man, no need to get your account deleted because you disagree with someone. Like I said, I really don't give a damn about a bands politics, as my politics are my own, but no need to start a political turf war on Tshirtslayer of all places.

Zastrozzi's picture

Totally unnecessary... all of this for a Mystic Circle LS...

That being said, I respect Pan for sticking to their principles, even if I don't hold the same set of ethics or approach things the same way.

pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

Thank you. If anything metal taught me it was 'no compromise' when it comes to you identity haha.

Mystic Circle was a ridiculous shit band !!! Hated by most Black Metal fans in Germany, only children and no serious Black Metal fans have respected that.

EQA's picture

Well... that is Symphonic Black Metal's reputation afterall isn't it? At least the majority of it. Still us steadfast fans remain.

5
pan_in_ithyphallic_mirth's picture

I am no fan of Mystic Circle. But it seems like its just a cliche gut reaction for everyone to hear the mass of people call a band shit and to just repeat the same. A true individual makes that decision for themselves. They dont let the mass determine for them what style of black metal they should be into. I have a plethora of BM bands people ignore or think are crap but I hail as fantastic. I dont take orders from above on what im into. And Im really into gothic black metal

3
Zastrozzi's picture

I fucking adore Mystic Circle as well as a plethora of other (some would consider cheesy) symphonic BM acts that were mocked from the outset - sorry my taste is not "tru-kvlt" enough for you.

5
Satanic Warlord's picture

Taste is different. I do not dictate my taste to anyone. I just say my opinion and tell about perceptions about the band Mystic Circle in Germany. Everyone should listen and find what they want.
