Carnage (Oklahoma)

Carnage were based in Oklahoma City started playing gigs in late 1987 after the disbanding of Satanic Republicans,a notorious punk rock band. Early gigs with bands like Cryptic Slaughter,Gammacide,Excel,Rigor Mortis,Ludichrist,and Oliver Magnum won them a very wild and violent fan base. In late 1989 they recorded a demo tape titled "Killing Machine" showcasing thier ultra tight speed metal chops but very few were ever sent out to zines or labels but the band did a few larger shows with the likes of Flotsam and Jetsam,Pantera and Exodus. Carnage disbanded around 1992,changed the name to Lead Pipe to avoid confusion with Sweden's Carnage. Singer Mike Rorabaugh (passed away 1996) was a very outspoken satanist and former hardcore punk rocker,always getting crowds whipped into a frenzy or calling local radio preachers for some good on air disscussions. Drummer Joe Grah plays for John 5's solo band now(I think).
