I agree, though I think my favorite would have to be Welcome to Hell since it was the first Venom album I heard and introduced me to extreme metal.

I really like the song "Countess Bathory" from Black Metal.

Countess Bathory is not only a rightfully beloved song, Tomas Forsberg (Quorthon) partially named his own beloved influential band after that song.

I used to own the 2002 Neat reissues of Venom's first three albums with all those great extra songs like Acid Queen and the mighty Seven Gates of Hell. Great stuff.

awsome. i found a used copy of this at a local record store recently about a month or two ago. it's a great record. i'd had the cd for a long time but i mainly listened to the first two Venom albums, but i've been listening to this a lot lately, it's definitely the same level of greatness as the first two.

i'd say the album 'Black Metal' is my favorite Venom album, mainly because of the song 'Sacrifice'. that song is so wicked. so evil. the album is perfect. the cover is iconic. the album title became the name of a genre'. it never gets old, it seems like everytime i listen to it i get PUMPED UP, and enspired to burn some churches and hang out with sleezy women and drink alchohol and worship the devil. and that's all very good stuff as far as i'm concerned, it's a lifestyle choice.

I found this at the record store too, which was surprising. I didn't expect to see a Venom album there for only $8 (at least of their first three). I think Black Metal is their most iconic because it really was a start to something new in the metal genre.

i'll take pictures and post mine tomorrow. my insert has a red goat head (identical to the silver goat/devil head on the previous album except it's red.). it's pretty cool looking.
