Wasn't this released 1994, not 1993?

Nater90's picture

Yeah 1994. Was recorded between 92/93 but got delayed.

Yeah would be frustrating Varg getting money for what he did, wonder how the album would sound of someone different did the bass riffs.

Oh yeah true. Forgot about Snorre.

Mass respect to Jan to go through it all, people these days would give up.

This album defines Black Metal for me personally in terms of sound and appearance because Atilla is one hell of a vocalist and performer!

Yeah remember that. Bloody shite.

Euronymous could see what was going to happen sooner or later, I love Dead on vocals and his stage presents. If he did the vocals for it I reckon it would be similar to Obsessed By Cruelty or Endless Pain.

I wouldn't call it luck, it is unfortunate and tragedy, they wouldn't have the same level of success though, which to me is sad I have a lot of early recordings with Dead and Euronymous and love them.

Yeah I've watched the interview with Atilla saying that.

Agreed, December Moon is an amazing demo. He should have stuck with them.

If he was still around the shows we've seen and loved would not be in the same league nor would they tour as often.

If the classic line-up of Mayhem (Dead, Euronymous, Necrobutcher, Hellhammer) was involved in this recording, it would be the number 1 album in Black Metal, ...although Varg on bass is not bad either, and at least murder of Euronymous a lesson for those who like to play with threats to people.
