H&M sells this shirt what do you think about this?

This is really embarassing for every metalhead. H&M sells sometimes bandshirts.
This is the link >http://www.hm.com/nl/product/87334?article=87334-B

Not only shirts with metallogo's but also shirts with Ramones,Guns 'n' Roses,AC/DC and Nirvana.

That's how you get people who say that it is a shirt brand and not a band.
I despise that kind of people.
If you don''t know the band or listen to their music stop buying/wearing these shirts.

What's your opinion about this people?

atrophythrasher's picture

Lol and H&M sells justin beaver shirts of course lol

PForx's picture

Hahahah, I just think it's funny. But if I see anyone with that shirt I'll know where they got it, and I'll give them an angry stare. That'll show 'em!

atrophythrasher's picture

well i ask sometimes if they know the band and if they say ''No'' i laugh at them right in their faces :')

joecubbie's picture

Ugh XD my favorites though are the posers in the Misfits shirts who don't even know who they are. I was at a mall once and this kid was wearing the same Misfits shirt as me and I said "Dude you listen to Misfits too?!" His response: "Uhhhhh, yeah?" Me: "What's your favorite song?" Him: "What's yours?" Me: "Either "20 Eyes" or "Last Caress" Him: "Yeah I like those uhhhhhh...." Me: "Do you even know who Danzig is?" Him: "Who?" Me: *walks away* This happened in real life.

atrophythrasher's picture

hahahaha lol what a stupid liar xD if you know misfits you must know danzig too

PForx's picture

I don't even get bothered from Misfits shirts anymore. They're so common among 'Hot Topic'-type posers I just look at it as a brand of clothing (as well as a band).

Slayer shirts, on the other hand, is like stepping on my nutsack, as they are one of the bands that introduced me to the harder and faster styles of metal.

judascrust's picture

similar thing happened to me, I walk into a dunkin donuts w/ a misfits shirt on, guy at the counter asks if i'm in the fiend club, I say "no just a big fan" so he asks me what my favorite album is, I say "pretty much everything w/ danzig singing" & the kid was surprised haha he said he liked the michael graves era stuff best which I respect but to me glen danzig is what made that band special; this family-friendly, G-rated version of the band that we have now is just plain sad haha.... This kid had like psychopathic records/juggalo tattoos too, he asked what other bands I liked but I knew it was pointless trying to talk music with him haha so that was that :P

Also gotta love how everyone and their brother knows who danzig is but only a select few of them know he fronted the misfits *facepalm* hahaha

I stopped caring a long time ago, besides I think I actually own one band-shirt/dress from the same store. Of course there are people who will think it is just a print, but who cares? It is annoying of course but there is nothing you can do about it. If you want to be mad about it however, be mad at Slayer (or whatever band, Iron Maiden and AC/DC for example also sold shirts at H&M) for selling the rights for H&M. These H&M bandshirts are licensed. A big clothing store like that could not just steal logo's like that, and if you go to the store and look at the print, you will see it has copyright to the band.

PForx's picture

I think H&M made a pink (!) Iron Maiden shirt once. I'm also guilty of owning a band shirt from a dumb, normal clothes store, but I bought it years ago.

Satan's Finest's picture

People wearing them when they don't know the band is obviously stupid. But I don't mind theme being sold there. Means I can buy them when I'm in those stores. Got a deep purple - stormbringer t-shirt in primark last year which was really weird because it's not the kind of album that's known in the mainstream.

Faber's picture

Hell, finally Metalshirts with a decent and eveybody is pissed? Got a great Motorhead fit from H&M. Happy with it!

atrophythrasher's picture

Because they are many ''not metalheads'' who buy this shirts they think that it is a shirt brand but i get your point.

nightslasher26's picture

Where I live metal shirts and biker jackets are in fashion I see everday random stupid sluts wearing leather and Maiden shirts. It's really fucking annoying.I was at the mall the other day now they are selling jackets and glowes with studs...

Faber's picture

I love to see sluts in leather.

nightslasher26's picture

Yeah maybe I explained myself wrong hahah.

Stronthor's picture

Slayer has been little more than a cash cow for years now, and I've been expecting their shirts to devolve into mere fashion items just like those Ramones and Misfits shirts. It's taken longer than I thought, actually. Sadly, I can't say I'm surprised to see this... Still, it's a shame, since their '80s output will always be something quite special to me.

alla2465's picture

So Slayer sold out too? No surprise haha, SLayer has really been going to shit lately

DeathInFire's picture

at this point, i see slayer more as a brand than a band. they put on a fantastic show when i saw them a few months back but slayer hasn't put out anything i've liked since seasons and really just seems to be slapping their logo on anything now. i wouldn't even care if they did that if they still put out good stuff but they havent and this isnt surprising.

Johnny-Eyeball's picture

Gorgoroth shirts are sold at Hot Topic and are advertised as such on their official website.

Who fucking cares.
It literally doesn't matter. Yes, it's annoying when morons buy them thinking they're just a stylish brand (as I see where I live on a weekly basis with Nirvana and Guns 'n' Roses shirts) but beyond that, who gives a shit where they're sold? It reeks of being a pleb and trying too hard to be 'metal' by going on tirades about 'selling out' due to X shop selling X, Y or Z shirt because of whatever social stigma one thinks that shop has. It's just a shop and if a band wants to further their distribution by giving the rights to places like this, so be it. It doesn't alter that band or my perception of them in any way, shape or form, nor should it for anyone else.

DethronedEmperor23's picture

i love the open cut it has, very fashionable. not a bad design either 9/10 would cop, but shipping is too expensive :\

gizter's picture

you sound like someone on /fa/

DethronedEmperor23's picture

I swear, I-I've never been on there before

gizter's picture

ssshhht.. i wont tell ;)

ManOboy's picture

Honestly, couldn't care less.

meaningless's picture

imo..i dont rly care...lets face the truth...not rly many ppl will buy those shirts there...and metalheads buy their stuff not @H&M..haha..

K-Mart in Australia are now selling Metallica, GnR and ac/dc shirts ...

Nater90's picture

Indeed....My brother commented last time we were there together I should get em for my collection....I told him to go fuck himself...

I understand the bands need to make money and what not off their merch, But some of the designs that they come out with are just plain hideous! I have bootlegs that look better then some of the "officials".

HERBROCKS's picture

Im still peeved walmart and target sell rock shirts, even hot topic for that matter. I come from a time you could only get them at shows and record stores..

Morbid_Welshman's picture

It's a daily thing over here; People wearing mainly Guns N' Roses, Ramones and even the occasional Iron Maiden shirts from places like this, thinking they're just fashion brands. If you're a fan and you like the shirt; Cool, buy one! If not, wear something else, as you will look a tit!

Oldschool's picture

It really gets on my nerves when I see young kids walk around with these shirts, especially HIPSTER girls who all of a sudden fancy Pink Floyd, to which most of them don't even listen. However it's won't be stopped, except for Bolt Thrower, most bands would like to see their merch on the street and love to sell to the fashionable market.

mad_submarine's picture

If the band cannot be bothered why should you? They sold their name. It has been a long time since Slayer stood for what it stood anyway.

HERBROCKS's picture

Bob Marley shirts bother me more.

bls-georg-pantera's picture

I can't wait till the Burzum winter collection <3.. no but seriously, I couldn't care less. There's a skatestore here in Amsterdam that sells punk/metal records as well as some shirts (they still have some pretty killer shirts! too bad they're expensive as fuck) and plenty of people buy them because they think it looks cool.. I have better things to do than be a Heavy Metal Fashion-nazi towards people who don't give a flying fuck about your opinion anyways. gotta say I did one time end up in one of these situations by accident.. one of my classmates was wearing a New Order shirt, and since i'm a big fan of Joy Division I gave him a compliment and told him I didn't knew he was into New Order.. his reply was simply: oh, i got it at the H&M I didn't know it was a band. Instead of getting all butthurt I simply told him to look them up if he wanted to

oldmate's picture

I also have better shit to do that give a fuck if some dude in a slayer tee is a true metal warrior or not. Nice work on the New Order shirt business! that's the best way to handle that

Necrocanibal666's picture

That's the attitude bro!

JedCannon's picture

I went in with my girlfriend the other month and saw a Metallica women's vest, a slayer crop top and and Rolling Stones shirt.
I don't really have a problem with this but I don't like how some people buy them because 'it looks cool'.
I actually saw someone at Leeds festival with a Rolling Stones vest, he came to my camp site and he was well shaven, muscular and only listened to dance music (that kind of guy). I went on to ask him if he was a stones fan. He said who's that? Do they make clothes...
Don't get me started me started on when Chris Brown wore this jacket http://metalsucks.junipconcepts.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/1...

ThrashMetal1983's picture

I love to laugh at people who don't know who the band is and they wear the shirt. It's very amusing to me and I love to fuck with them. For example if I see someone wearing let's say a Metallica shirt that I know they bought from a store like this(because there are stores in the U.S. such as Victoria's Secret who did sell them at one point) I'll be like "hey do you like Metallica's album Holy Diver?" And they'll be like "hell yeah that's one of my favorites!" And it kills me every time because tbey make themselves look like complete fools haha xD

ProtectorOfMegadeth's picture

"Did you like their latest release, Orgasmatron?" Haha

DeathRipper's picture

What I don't like is when I see someone wearing a band shirt, try to talk to them about the band, and they don't know the band. I really don't get wearing a shirt of a band you don't listen to.

ToxikAssault's picture

H&M stands for heavy & metal, right? Haha.

4649goroawase's picture

I actually got my Bathory shirt from Hot Topic. I met some other Bathory fans while buying it, so it was a good experience. I also got a De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas shirt while I was there, but it was 2XL so I cut the Mayhem logo out and put it on my jacket.

mealkeith's picture

Postative: Could be a good subtle way to introduce people into metal can be okish in quality

Negative:Can be infuriating for some to see trendy people wearing it especially when they say they don't like metal at all but the tshirt is cool

Bayernpirat's picture

I don´t care about such Hipsters trying to be cool by wearing this shirts

nameless_rites's picture

It looks less retarded than many "real" Slayer shirts; and it's obviously licensed by the band (otherwise they would be sued).

JoeCool6972's picture

I dunno, still better than Hot Topic selling out when they started carrying Justin Bieber.

ProtectorOfMegadeth's picture

Ahg, during School, my testosterone filled self couldn't handle the Emo/Scene kids wearing Cannibal Corpse or Slayer shirts, I'd ask 'em what their favorite album was, they'd always say shit like "I like a lot of them" and walk away. Fucking Infuriating at that time, but I don't care much now
