Thanks for the flames! I would nominate Summoning along with Bathory for some of the best LS's out there.

It took me Lots of years to understand summonings logo... haha
True story
vkok on
mmm i dont think its all that easy to translate...i see a pentagram...maybe satanic?

So epic... Incredible band. I'd have to go for Lugburz for a go to album.
vkok on
ha! Lugburz brings jolly memories of me arguing with the cd store sales guy for fucking me over and making me buy an unrelated to Summoning album.
I initially bought Dol Guldur when it came out in 96 I believe, and loved it. Ran back to the store to get their other albums and the guy shoved me Lugburz. I ran home shitting my pants from happiness...turned on my stereo and said wtf is this...its not Summoning hahah...maybe some other band with the same name.
Its a great album though...still have that cd to this day :))
Nater90 on
Hahahaha that's brilliant!! When you line it up against their other releases it's one that stands out and you do think it's someone else. When I first got it in one of my cars a rear speaker was pretty much fucked and crackled so it sounded much rawer than it actually is haha.
vkok on
yeaah and back in the mid 90's we had no internet to look it up too...I only got internet in 98 or so....i thought it was a good band but not what i was expecting after hearing dol guldur....so started jumping on the guy who sold it to me...i think he showed me mailorder he used and told me to go fuck myself haha
Nater90 on
True man, now we use the internet for everything. I've got the Black Metal encyclopedia but because of so many releases it's out of date quickly. Hahaha that's priceless, does he still have a shop nowadays?
vkok on
yeah these mail orders, books and encyclopedias are obsolete but probably worth some money as collectables.
I dont know man...i havent gone there in almost 20 years, i stopped buying cds in early 00's. Just not very practical nowadays. My car doesnt even have a cd player. The only thing that plays cds is my house is my personal desktop that i use for nothing. So i got about 400 cds from the 90's sitting idle with no work.
My bet - his shop is dead and long gone. People just don't shop these things anymore.
Nater90 on
Yeah some of them are.
Damn man that's shit haha, they need to be cranked!!!
Really? Is there many gig's in your area?
vkok on
Yeah cds got replaced rather quickly. I stopped buying early 00's as it became a burden to carry them. Especially when everyone is walking with tiny mp3 players. I started looking like a fool.
We have plenty! Almost every week someone comes here...well not now due to christmass and stuff...but usually we have somethi g going on. What about your place?
Nater90 on
Damn that's shit haha, I have mp3 player but rather my discman or Walkman.
Fuck yeah, would suck not being able to see gig's. Yeah we have a kick ass scene, got tickets to see Emperor, Soilwork, and Voivod next year so far.
vkok on
Voivod is Canadian but dont see then in Toronto too often. Sounds like you have it good there.
Nater90 on
Know that feeling with some local bands too.
Yeah for the most part.
vkok on
You jave Nazxul!! I'd love to see them live.
Nater90 on
Ugh they kick ass, I've never seen them though haha. I want too.
