TONS!! Seen every New York-area show since 1982, usually more than once per tour. . .flown to other parts of the country to see them as well. Can't even begin to count the times. . .50? Gotta be up close to there by now! Maybe more!
I stopped to 14 times ( 15th will be next june ), first was in 1984, with Crue supporting, in the Word Slavery Tour; ok, now I gonna sleep, probably I will dream about these shirts all night long...lol
Sadly, I've never been to the UK and was not at the gig. Back in the pre-Internet days I used to have Fan Club penpals who would pick up t-shirts for me from Europe and other parts of the world in exchange for New York t-shirts. Someone I knew at the time was either at this gig or got the shirt somehow afterward. Wish I could have been there though!!!
I can confirm it was something special. The venue held about 300 max but I remember about 1000 people turned up. I worked at the Rock House at the time and had two of these shirts which have sadly been lost over the years with house moves etc. I was excited to see some have survived as I recall, only 200 or so were made. If being there wasn't enough, the band did their sound check with Can I play with madness & Run to the Hills with only me, one of the venue owners and Nessie the barmaid as the audience. Don't get much better than that!
Thanks for the reply
WOW!! That's an amazing story!! I can't imagine how wild that would be!! Sorry to hear you lost your shirts! I'm very lucky to have gotten one! I didn't realize only 200 were printed! If you look though my collection you'll see I also have the other warm-up event shirts. . .Charlotte & the Harlots, etc. :)
