I have to say I think I bought this at Hot Topic. I know! At the time, there were few ways to get DEG shirts aside from concerts (which were few), or on Livejournal (which was a great resource, but not as safe to buy from).
Dir en grey released a similar t-shirt in Japan many years prior to their US tours, and this is the US version. It is white on black vs the Japanese black on white. This also has no design on the back, unlike the original Japanese version. In addition, this was a men's shirt I had altered to be more fitted. I think the original Japanese shirt was a women's cut. The zombie is rumored to be Kyo.
Anyway it's my favorite of my collection, despite the drama surrounding the zombie's hat at the time of it's release (which was argued to be SS inspired).
EDIT: Here is some of the original art: http://senjukannon.tumblr.com/post/60340269134/tour-shirts-ii
I will! Do you have any tips for starting a battle jacket? What's the ettiquite? Can I put any band I like on a vest, or do I have to have seen the band live?
It's your jacket to express your personal taste and likes. Put anything you like on it. If anybody gives you any shit about it they can eat it. If anybody takes the time to rag on you about a band you like that they don't, they're probably sitting in the basement with a magic marker making their own generic jacket. You can NOT make a wrong battle jacket, YOU just got to love it. Be METAL, Don't conform. (put something on it that you think will piss everyone off). My only advise, keep those patches tight.
Exactly as hateandwhiskey said! It's your jacket. Look at my vest half of the bands gives some metalheads cancer within seconds and I couldn't care less. :D
Really cool Dir En Grey shirt. Theres a couple rare ones I've seen and i think alot of their early merch was awesome. One of them had a photo of Chucky on the back.

I recall these guys being all over the place when I was around 18. Never got into them but I like the art on this shirt.

Always wanted to see that artwork as backpatch!

Kinda reminds me of those photos Kyo took where he was looking like some kind of zombie in a Japanese WWII uniform

He has an obsession with being a zombie nazi for sure. Probably a fantasy of his, haha.

That's fuckingtastic! Could be a good motive for a backpatch!
