The motive illustrates what Saiva aims to express – a transcendence between our world and the world that lies beyond. It also represents the meeting of two cultures – the one of the far north and the one of the south. Still both deriving from elder Scandinavian traditions. In these cultures music could open portals and carry the shaman over the threshold to other worlds. It was for them, as it is for Saiva, a medium of communication and reflection. To gain insight and perspective on questions that this world does not offer any answers to.
