The hoodie looks great, and I'm so fucking jealous you were at the 30th anniversary show.

Makes me wonder btw, how did the crowd react to Lou Reed? And where there any special guests that were not received that well? Just wondering.
metal_thrashing_dad on
Well for me and i'm pretty sure for most of the crowd was the most indifferent moment of the whole week. And, no there were no negative receptions at all even for Lou Reed. As for the best receptions, definitely Jason Newsted & Dave Mustaine!!!
VoodooChild
Mkay. Thnx for answering. It must have been really something seeing Mustaine play with Metallica indeed on one stage... And King Diamond and Halford must have been great too. I read somewhere there were some Artist who refused to come when they were asked and Metallica was quite dissapointed, they didn't say who though. Any Idea wich artists refused?
metal_thrashing_dad on
No i don't, they kept their lips sealed on that matter. But i know for sure that Lemmy was asked and wanted to come but there was a conflict on his touring schedule. Tony Iommi would definitely be present if he wasn't battleing with the cancer. King Diamond & Rob Halford were indeed great but for me the most special moment was John Bush singing "The Four Horsemen". Try to see a video on YouTube and maybe you will understand why!!!
VoodooChild
I definitly will! Going to youtube now. Man if lemmy would have been there it would definitly (if it wasn't already) be the sickest line-up ever. I somehow have the feeling Maiden were asked since I know Metallica has alot of respect (ulrich said so in the Flight 666 documentary) for them, and ofcourse they did Maiden covers. I also have read an interview with Dickinson with an not so nice opinion about Metallica. So I have the feeling Maiden was asked... I hope I will know wich bands it where in the future!!!
metal_thrashing_dad on
Yeah, i know that Dickinson doesn't have a great opinion on Metallica. But i really don't know if Iron Maiden were asked!!!
VoodooChild
I've just looked up John Bush with Metallica btw.. Best version I ever heard I think! I was looking on the internet about who were asked and didn't come. And about Maiden I searched. Couldn't find anything. I did find the interview with Metalhammer were Dickinson tells how he is better than Metallica and why... He almost seems jealous or something!
metal_thrashing_dad on
Yeah, i know which interview you mean. And as much as i love Bruce, i really don't understand why sometimes he starts this verbal attack on Metallica. Who give a fuck? Maiden are Maiden & Metallica are Metallica. Two of the biggest bands of all time!!!
VoodooChild
Like I said he's maybe jealous??
metal_thrashing_dad on
As i said, Maiden are Maiden & Metallica are Metallica. Can't see the point of being jealous!!!
VoodooChild
Me neither.. but people brains work strange. It's the only explainaton though why he would do this.
