didn't some people get beaten up by bikers for wearing these BLS backpatches? maybe it's no problem in Japan, haha
but nice priest and motörhead. and the denim vest itself looks great. always hard to find a good vest!

FredManimal's picture

yeah, I think it was in London. well, bikers never really liked that metalheads wear kuttes. but this BLS bp is exactly like the biker gang bps, so they are extra pissed about this. I don't like BLS, but still think this behaviour is stupid. but I also have to admit that I get pissed myself when I see hipsters wearing denim vests with spikes and selfmade nonsense patches

JesusLovesCakeFart's picture

Upon further research, the MC that had a problem with BLS back patches are UK based Satan's Slaves because the band's merch resembled the SS' colors/ logos: http://myimages.bravenet.com/632/078/232/front2.JPG
I kind of see it, but not really enough to get pissed about. Then again, like you said, bikers being upset with metalheads' kuttes and all that. I have heard of MCs harassing people who were wearing Sons of Anarchy (TV show about bikers) merch too.

Blüdrayne's picture

I don't blame them, because there's a reason the 3 piece layout is kept that way.
Each individual piece does mean something, too.

The problem with it isn't about it looking 'similar'
This is a 3 piece, top rocker, club emblem and a bottom rocker, these patches are symbols of biker clubs, but not just any clubs, these are MC club patches, a lot of MC clubs throughout the world are 1% clubs, the reality of it is they're outlaw gangs.
MC biker gangs have been wearing this formation of patches for a VERY long time, it's a symbol of status, a uniform.
This full 3 piece set can sometimes take years to EARN, through illegal activities in the said gangs, as well as loyalty.
MC prospect members spend a long time earning these, they're tested, an pushed to their limits so the club can get to know the person and see if they're good enough for the cut.
These are men only clubs, and a lot of them are in fact organised gangs.
The problem with this BLS set is the members of BLS are not MC bikers, never have been and never will be, they're not gang members, they're not in any MC club, they haven't earned these patches, they've just made them to look 'cool'
Yes the Satans slaves as well as other MC gangs in England had a problem with people walking the streets wearing these, in some cases and some areas, people can be killed for wearing rival club 'colours' in another clubs territory.
These aren't just teenagers on motorcycles, these are hardcore outlaw bikers, these people are criminals and organised gang members, and for the record I know a lot of slaves, I was in a local MCC 'family friendly' biker club in a Satans slaves territory, I spent a lot of time at the slaves club house with the rest of my club, I know some of these people personally, and believe me, they are serious people.
Just think of it this way, imagine some teenager with yakuza or triad symbols on his jacket or tattoos, this guy isn't going to last very long, it's disrespect.
This isn't anything at all to do with bikers not liking metal heads, the majority of my fucking Satans slaves chapter were and are still metal heads, and have been around since the heavy metal scene started, so they have seen a lot more than the majority of people here have.
This whole thing is about disrespect, and I totally understand why, after being in a club and being around 1%ers and seeing these guys way of life, it's nothing like this 'sons of anarchy' lifestyle people are quoting, sons of anarchy is just a dramatised tv show, nothing more, the UK 1% scene is totally totally different, and also sons of anarchy was only allowed to wear certain patches in it's show, only because the writer is on good terms with some clubs and asked for permission, an example of that is the fact there are no 1% patches in the show, because it's just a tv show with actors, you have to earn that title, and believe me, it's a fucking long, hard, process.

JesusLovesCakeFart's picture

I do believe that it is indeed a long, hard process to become a patched member of an outlaw club, not disputing that at all. I also understand that BLS is dickriding the fuck out of biker culture all the way to the bank, and MCs should be rightfully pissed. Rockers on a jacket are universal biker symbols and reserved for MCs only. No one ever said anything about bikers not liking metalheads, it was about having a problem with metalheads' kuttes, such as: band names on top and bottom and a shaped back patch in the middle being seen as an unknown MC in another's territory. Problems caused by mistaken identity and such. Also, I only bring up the SOA topic because, just like BLS fans, I KNOW people are getting their asses beat for wearing shit like this: http://www.patchbug.com/ProdImages/ANARCHY%20BACK%20SET.jpg But at the same time, fucking up a KID for wearing the merch is low.

Formshifter's picture

that satans slaves centre piece is so ugly, no wonder theyre pissed, compared to bls theirs is shit

trenchraider's picture

it was In my Hometown manchester and i was at the show bunch of assholes picking on 14 year old kids

JesusLovesCakeFart's picture

Man, that's bullshit. There's no excuse for that.

trenchraider's picture

fucking tell me about it dude! they were wandering up and down the q with knives and shit no need 4 that if they have an issue they take it up with the band not the fans who bought the bands merch...

trenchraider's picture

damn right Doc!!! although the good people here have recently passed a law that makes verbal/physical attacks on Metalheads a hate crime in the sme way as if they beat up or called a black dude racist names :)

hammer slammer's picture

I know a couple of Slaves and they were telling me about that, they've had to earn their patches and they take A LOT of earning, so they are going to get pissed off when some people can just buy a vest and appear to hold the same status as them, Imagine how much shit would go down if you were a private in the army, and suddenly you just waltzed in with a staff sergeant's chevrons sewn into your uniform. The actual Staff Sergeants wouldn't be pleased would they?

trenchraider's picture

dude i get what you're say i mean shit! i come from a family of 1%ers but all i'm saying is there's no excuse for threatening kids with knives

the back looks amazing.

You might have problems for wearing that backpatch simply for the structure of the 3 patches exclusive for motoclubs. The rules about the patches are really strict and have been in force for years, they consider that you should gain those patches showing your loyalty to the club and maybe take it as disrespectful (just like a heavy metal club, you can't use the patch if you aren't a member). Hope you have no troubles :)

5
Taisuke's picture

In Japan , it. Is nonsensical especially @ Tokyo . You are thinking too much.

5
Evilution E5150's picture

5
Taisuke's picture

You write 『 you will get your ass beat 』
『accuse you』『treat you』.

Please do not omit a subject.

5
Evilution E5150's picture

5
Taisuke's picture

Ok. I see your retelling.
And sorry about you encountered that.
Thank you very much for your comment & quick reply.
My English is not good.

Yeah never really understood why bls and chuck billy for that matter choose that look, but I believe your club doesn't have to be outlaw to wear 3 piece it just has to be a full time club there are quite a few clubs in the U.S. that have 3 piece that aren't outlaw.

Taisuke's picture

In the first place,I do not belong to the club.
My vest does not matter MC.
I say one more thing.
Around me, not outlaw bikers ,
that I wear the clothes free in peace Japan .

I'm enjoying reading these comments they're giving me some interesting info. I design tshirts on the side and have made a SoA parody shirt: http://www.redbubble.com/people/babyjesus/works/10309893-sons-of-odin-mi...
I've often thought of getting some patches of my design for my jacket but I wouldn't want to offend any MCs as I have a great deal of respect for them. While yes some are outlaw gangs, in my research I've also found that some can even just be makeshift families. I contacted one biker and he gave me a full run down of MCs and explained that his crew is actually a makeshift family for soldiers suffering from PTSD and the MC acts as a support structure for those people. It opened my mind to the option that they can represent more than just a group of outlaws, but tight knit group of friends and family and I don't want to disrespect that kind of bond. That being said, respect should go both ways. It would be better if rather than harassing people they could simply talk it over a beer or two. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part

5
JesusLovesCakeFart's picture

Now THAT would make an interesting HMC logo. I dig that name/design a lot.

Edit: That's good to know, seems like an awesome group of people. And yeah, I agree, I'd rather come to a peaceful understanding by sitting and discussing before letting all hell break loose.

It is interesting comment world apart .
