I dont think they're a terrible band. I think they're a good Hard Rock band but Its not Metal because they dont really put enphisis on the riffs like all metal bands should have and a metal riff should be epic not detuned simplistic nu metal riffs. they also have a very commercial radio friendly sound that you wont find in real metal music and the lyrics are more poor me type lyrics. metal lyrics should be strong always. but I would call very earlier starting slipknot metal.

For the lyrics, may be, english is not my mother tongue and I suck at it, so I can understand what they speak about, but I can't say if the songwriting is good, just I prefere this type of lyrics than bands sing about dragon, knight, werewolf, how much metal they are and over stuff..

Commercial radio friendly, mmmh i can't agree with that, may be for some song on the 2 last album or the single, but not for the most of their songs, SK is not just "Wait And Bleed" or "Duality", the two first album are full of hatred and rage, "Iowa" is the most brutal, sick and intense album I have ever heard. so yes, since SK is "stonesourised", it's suck a little, but before "Vol:3" they made awesome metal music

For the riff, yeah, I must agree, they simplistic, but effective as fuck and it's the aim !

To me, they are sellouts, their music worsens with each cd, to the point of being radio rock not metal, and way too many band members-who needs 3 drummers?

Those are my reasons, i wont speak for others who dislike slipknot, they have their own reasons...

Too many members ? I don't care, ijudge on the musique, not the numbers of musiciens.

they are sell out ? mmmh I don't think so, yes their music is more "easy listening", but I think the most easy way to sell lot of album is to to make a second Iowa, and they didn't make this, but yes, I agree with the fact of their music worsens with each Cd, but the two first album are awesome and in live they plays mostly song of this album

led Zeppelin is not metal, it's blues rock, AC/DC is hard rock, kiss is glam rock, there are so manny bands on this side there are not metal an its ok to post it, an i think AC/DC and Kiss are more popular than all nu metal bands together.
In the Radio, TV, so whats the Problem with Slipknot or Korn? they makes there thing, some people like it and some not. (sorry for my bad english)
