Well, this is a weird and mysterious one. I *found* this shirt in a seemingly unworn condition along with some other totally non-metal clothes and a half-eaten pizza (thankfully still in box) in a big garbage bag, which was standing at a glass collection container. Sometimes people just bring their stuff that they don't really want to throw in the garbage to those glass collection points for other people to pick up. The clothes were all clean, too! Now, the 2020 tour didn't happen due to Covid-19 and I wasn't attending any shows on the one that finally took place 3 years later, so we're even :D Great design and a really fitting title for the Covid-19 time.
Thanks!
I definitely recommend to watch out for stuff at these collection points, it's like a lottery for me, sometimes you find amazing items but of course nothing most of the time. But even if you've found nothing, you still got some fresh air, you can't lose anyway. Some collection points in my area "deliver" more than others, that must depend on the neighbourhood, but the one the shirt came from has been a treasure trove for years! Until I've found the shirt, I've already found books, a PC, kitchenware, beer mugs and fancy metal boxes there. Also mysterios and funny afterwards was an unmarked 15 minutes VHS tape I've found, I tought it's gonna be some major weirdness on it (The Ring, anyone?), or a music video maybe (same kind of tapes are often used for this) but it was just a promotional video for some place in Bavaria, if I recall correctly. Weird enough, I guess. After the shirt, I think a month ago or so, I've found a huge stamp collection there. Must have been a professional collector, I was very happy to "rescue" his folders and as I'm a collector myself I know how to properly cherish such things. Here's a photo of one of the mugs I've found, a really handsome guy :D
Damn dude...ur story realy want me to check all of this points we have here too.
I often drive by, u know...but there is nothing laying around around this boxes. But rarely...there is. But, like said, i just see/watch the ones on my typical routes....but i know more of them. Maybe i start to do the same, i love ur 'still get some fresh air, you cant lose anyway'..haha..thats so true. And would be realy important for me anyway...
Thx very much for shareing ur story and experiance @Stamps, shirts, video and so on....
Very nice, thx a lot dude!!
You're very welcome, I'm glad my little stories aren't completely useless around here :D The possibility to post them really makes this place very relaxing compared to the strict formality of Discogs, unthinkable to rant like this in the Submission Notes over there!
And yes, definitely keep your eyes open, you might save some amazing item from being destroyed. Would this shirt have survived if I didn't check the bag? Who knows, but right now, it's safe in my closet. And the fresh air is indeed highly recommended, gets your immune system going.
I didn't find anything special for quite some time now, but just two days ago I saw a bag that caught my attention. It contained Christmas decorations, so I took it home and some of the stuff is actually useable! One of the figurines is a music box which plays "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", not much but I'm not complaining since it all was free. As you can see, one really can save on Christmas decorations, just wait for someone to upgrade theirs :D
