It's kinda sad that their music is apparently used a lot on tiktok. It's such an amazing band and I personally think that tiktok is ruining everything.

Yes TikTok is where every what once was cool and edgy black metal band goes to die. It’s always been corny but in a good way. But with so many people imitating bm heads on TikTok for views and not knowing a single thing about bm, it’s very sad to see. Mayhem is almost ruined for me because I associate it so much with the little dumbass 14 year old kids in corpse paint. You’re not alone on this one brother.

That's exactly my point. Kinda makes me mad when I see people wearing corpse paint for some attention while not even knowing the history behind it. I just hope that the black metal world will never ever end up like... For example Nirvana. I don't want it to get popular, I don't want people to love it and make cringe videos about it. Black Metal is hate and that's all it should be.

Good to see people that actually care about this genre! The spirit of true black metal can be misused in the unworthiest way possible on apps like TikTok, Instagram, …, but it can never be removed from people that stay loyal to Black Metal!
I would say that besides from the most famous Bands in Black Metal like Burzum or Mayhem, Grausamkeit is one of the more „unknown“ bands that where ruined by those little children the most. It’s an amazing project, with talent and dedication, thats what those children won’t understand in ages!

You are completely right mate. As I have my own DSBM project and as a I am a black metal fan... It's all about feeling the powerful hate behind black metal. I don't want to speak for the deads but I'm pretty sure That Pelle would hate all of them kids being posers.

I’d ask for your option; I have my own BM project, but I post small clips of my music on instagram. No corpse paint and whatnot, just the music. Is that buying into the whole corny scene there do you think? Or is it ok being I’m not promoting the whole image as a child and whatnot. Be honest.

If your music is great that's all that truly matters mate. So many guys made a one man band project like me but they never showed their face or anything. Putting on corpse paint and taking pictures in the woods or anywhere else for your project isn't corny. The image of provocation is indeed really important in black metal. You'll only become corny if you start to dance on some Eminem songs with corpse paint you feel me ? There isn't a wrong way for black metal. Just put your hate into it and provocate this society. That's it

Yea, I have my Black Metal projects too, I hate lots of nowadays black metal stuff because it feels lifeless and emotionless, musicians can make music, but only some can obtain that what I will call black metal, Dedication and hate is everything!!!!
