I love the Queensryche EP a lot. But I've never been inclined to get anything else they've put out. The Warning wasn't bad, but it seemed like even on that album they had already lost a lot of the fire that they had on the first one.

That's interesting, I'd say that O:M and Empire have far more variety and greater (at least in O:M's case), though I do love their first 3 releases. I'd hardly call their earliest stuff progressive metal (as I hardly see Crimson Glory as a prog metal band either, aside from a couple of songs here and there), though I do agree that there's tons of energy (especially in their Live in Tokyo performance), only really lacking variety.
