full flames for a cool relic, i think i (should) still have the book too. Not my fave 'encyclopedia'-related book..but a good one.

Thanks mate! It's falling apart by now, but I wouldn't wanna have missed it.

The author looks like an absolute unit hahaha cool to see a pre-Metal Archives chronicle of rare and obscure bands! It must have been tantalizing getting to read about so many cool bands but then being unable to track down their CDs.

Yeah, his looks are definitely one of a kind, but his reviews and comments are well written and humorous. Especially when it comes to statements of young black metal musicians, who claim to "strike down every Christian with their sword in a battle one on one", for whom the author suggests, not to leave their house at wind force 5 and above, cause they might be swept away due to their scrawny constitution....
Luckily the book lists a complete discography for almost every mentioned band up to 1998 (even demos included) with a 5 star rating system.

That is pretty funny, the black metal toothpick. Are there any albums we'd know about today that he gives a one-star review too?

Off the top of my head the first three Abigor releases (Orkblut included) got 5*, but Opus and Apokalypse got thrashed with 2*.
Gotta check if there is any prominent "victim".
