This is the first face I've made based on a pretty well known and somehow overused KD picture. Turned out quite nice in my opinion

Nice, what type of paint did you use?

At first I used Acrylic fabric Paint but it sucks since its only sold in small tubes and I usually paint with a rollerbrush. Now I use normal Acrylic paint for houses, its thicker so it doesnt stain much and it fits better on shorter stencils.

I was saying on another persons diy patch that normal acrylic paint mixed with pva glue works really well. just gotta get the right mix and layer it on well. The paint roller is a really great idea, what do you use for the stencil itself? to get a sturdy-enough back ive often traced a design on a sheet of paper then glued it to another. it dries like card and then i cut it out but its a bit of a faff.

honestly, I've used both normal printer paper and thicker cardboard but Now I use regular Acetate paper. It's a lot harder to cut, compared to paper so Its a good idea to get a stencil knife since it's not that expensive. Acetate paper is so much better than any paper since it doesnt soak and you can wash it up to remove the excesses of paint and use it again as many times you want.
