I suppose it was just my lack of sewing skill when I started, but i just decided to keep it consistent so I never changed my technique :P how would you suggest I do it differently? :)
Partly, since it hides the stitches but it is also less prone to tear or is some way damage the print on the patch and having stitches extending to the farthest edge of the patch probably (I can't confirm this) make the patch less likely to catch on something and tear away from the jacket.

I would redo them all, by sewing through the embroidery, with my stitches running parallel to the embroidery threads, but it's your choice.

Yeah, i see what you mean. It would almost seal down the edges... I'll see about going over them eventually
