Vests tend to look better when they're little bit thight and smaller than the normal size of clothing the person uses, much more comfy when wearing only t-shirt under it imo. Ex. I'm 193cm tall, have been bulking for while so almost 80kilograms, fat percent around 15%, so quite much lean muscle mass, So i'm not really the smallest/skinniest guy still i use Vest sized S, 'cause it looks much better and it's much more comfortable. Also i think the size of S-sized denim jacket goes into near size L when the sleeves are cutted off.

i have around size XL/XXL and my vest is size M, fits perfect, shouln't be any bigger.

I hear you bro, I regret I bought a vest in the size of L, and I'm 181cm/66kg so I'm a pretty fucking skinny guy. The jacket looks a little small compared to what I'm used to, tho' I've been thinking about making a new one that would be way smaller. Hard to find a PERFECT jacket/vest tho'.
