Great vest man... have you any idea when the backpatch was made. I have the same on one of my jackets and it s uploaded here but unfortunately it s quite destroyed. I bought it at mid 90's

I'm almost certain that jt is one of the earliest Metallica back patches, due to the small size, style, and that I have seen it on a jacket that I know for certain was made in the mid-80s.
There is a similar backpatch for Master Of Puppets (in terms of the size, border etc), so, assuming both were made at the same time, I guess it is from 1986 or 1987, but of course it is possible RTL was produced first.

Thanks man. I was going for something a bit more minimalist than my other vests, more of an old school style where each individual patch stands out a bit and you can actually see the denim!

Probably going to mess up the hard rock/metal theme with some of the patches I'm planning for the front... But still going to keep it all vintage (1972 - 1989).

Cheers mate! Yeah I love that pin, took me ages to find at a reasonable price, getting hold of it was one of the main factors that led me to make this vest. I have a similar badge on my main vest for Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, but it's nowhere near as good as this one.

Just as old school as it could be. Beautiful vest and good taste of music. And the circle Paranoid is one of my favorite patches by the way. Good stuff here!
