There was a huge fad with the local punk kids here a few years back where everyone went straight edge. There was one kid in particular who got 'DRINKING SUX' tattooed. He is no longer straight edge.

I don't really have anything against people being straight edge, so long as it's not a matter of being involved in a trend (as hungbyintestines mentioned). I also don't have anything against those that drink to have fun, as long as they're not the asshole kind of drunks... go for it.

I always find for me personally that a balance always works best. I can't really drink anymore thanks to a surgery (I can, but I'll get drunk like halfway through one beer, HA!)... but when I did before I only drank like two beers. I don't really like getting hammered unless I'm with friends.

Gastric bypass surgery. Basically, my stomach is now about the size of a tennis ball.

ahh, that would be why then! Some people have success with that surgery, others it doesn't seem to do much...good luck to you, hopefully it's been successful for you!

Ohh it has!

It's a long story, I was never overweight until a few tragic things happened in my life. But dude, I got the surgery last October on the 26th... it's been like 7 months and I've lost more than 80 pounds, which is cool because the average for 1 year is like 100 pounds. I look and feel like I did when I was 17 years old.

good to hear that u feeling good dude, thats the most important thing!! Some worst things happend to me too in my past like over the last 1,5years..and i lost a lot of weight. Good thing: i feel much better anyway now (because all that stuff is gone & done)
Worst thing: most of my shirts are wayyyy to big now ;)

if i remember right..in usa it was more trendy..to be straight edge..here in europe..the most ppl - incl. the hardcoreszene itself - not even know what Straight Edge is or stands for.

I like the true-thoughts behind it...and i totaly respect it. I still dont drink...since more then 13 years ..haha..but im still a cigarette smoker.. :D ...every1 needs at least..1 bad thing ;) hihi

I quit for like 3 months from november to january. But nah.. not for me. It's much to precious for me atm :P smokings bad and expensive... but so damn good. And i'm an cigarette collector... and an cigarettecollector who doesn't smoke would be stupid... like an metalcollector who doesn't like the music.
