Excuse me, but the word vintage don't mean ORIGINAL. Maybe is not an original tour shirt, but it's old, not a new design, and this is what count. I like the shirt anyway. You can find a lot of amazing bootleg shirts, some old, some new. I don't need to pay a lot of money for original tour shirts, to be more authentic and heavy ;)
she's right; based on some quick research, "vintage" technically means the item is around 20 or so years old; the term is obviously tossed around a lot by some sellers to justify jacking their prices up on any piece of crap from a few years ago but from what I've gathered, that's what vintage ought to be used for.
could be, I know I've seen shirts on ebay listed as "vintage" and they're printed on gray shirts and given a distressed look so they look all faded and shit haha I'm not gonna argue with her about her shirt though lol
To be more correct, the word just means that something is old fashioned, looks classic or of old type. It doesn't need to be 30/20/10 years old to be vintage, it could be brand new.
And it's a normal word, it's centuries older than the word hipster ;)
it's probably gonna be annoying to see 400 replies on her shirt only to see the thread going off into a spiel about the correct usage of the word "vintage" haha I'm not here to give people any shit though :P
In case a new car is build and designed like an old one, you can call it vintage. Vintage is a synonym for "old fashioned", not a synonym for "being original of a certain era"
You need an estimated production date to determine that, official =/= vintage, age of the physical piece determines it (in clothing anyway) - I thought she meant it was an old bootleg, not that it was recently made, maybe I'm wrong? - the collar looks way wider than modern shirts is why I make this assumption. Anyway - LET THE MADNESS CEASE :D
wow, wow wow.... Hey guys, don't take conclusions if you don't know. This shirt it's not new, my boyfriend bought it when he was young, the gray color is real, the shirt have holes, and wears from the past of time, maybe you have seen this shirt brand new, but this is old. Don't make speculations without knowing... This shirt has been in a wardrobe a lot of years in my bf's mom house. And he give it to me last weekend, so it's new to me, but not the shirt.
About the comments, i don't gonna be angry for it, it's funny to see a lot of metalheads around the world discussing about my shirt.... XDD

I thought she meant new as in like, new to her, not necessarily newly produced... and if that's the case this whole debate is ridiculous haha

It´s not official from the band, but it´s a vintage shirt from the 80´s.
