The guy in Belgium is selling his for 200 euros if you are willing to give that kind of money...

Jasad! Awesome band. Anybody got any of their shirts?
irfan on
I have some, interest?

Cool! If you can provide a picture that would be awesome, I would love to have proof of the 3rd known copy. I have no idea why this shirt is so fucking rare. I would love to know how many actual copies were made, for all I know it must be a two-digit number at the highest. Never, ever seen this one for offer apart from the dude in Belgium I mentioned.
dungeonvic on
I can't believe it either. But I can't imagine they made more than 50 for example because dammit, somewhere, somehow this would have popped up. A guy in the shirtchaser forum said he never saw it in a Blue Grape catalogue or flyer. Our best guess is that perhaps they made a first batch then cancelled the production for whatever reason. I've only seen the Charles Manson print for the Retribution tour.
I would love to know the whole story behind this shirt. I didn't even know I owned one of the rarest (THE rarest?) death metal shirt until I joined the shirtchaser forum and bumped into the discussion about the other copy. I would have traded it for some pretty common shirts compared to this. Got lucky there! :P

Just ask him why is it near impossible to find a '92 blue grape retribution shirt, telling him that only 3 copies are known so far etc, I would love to hear his response!
dungeonvic on
That's Dan Seagrave.
slayerslayer on
Seagrave , familiar name... i did a search, Morbid angel - Alters of madness cover, early Entombed LP covers, Carnage, Dismember, Malevolent Creation, Suffocation, Desecrator, Resurrection, etc.

I just saw the link in the homepage, oh my! Well, I wouldn't call this the rarest shirt in metal, I would call it one of the rarest in death metal. I know there are some rare as fuck Metallica shirts from the demo days, something like 5-6 copies ever manufactured.
This one seems to have ended in 3 very different places (Greece, Belgium, Indonesia) so it MUST have been produced in larger numbers, I'm just really, really curious about the story. I can't think of any legitimate reason why this of all the Blue Grape shirts of the time is so fucking elusive. Perhaps, if there's some buzz around it, more copies will start surfacing.
dungeonvic on
Seriously, of course not. If you actually read the comments you will see that's already been mentioned. The question is how many exactly were printed and why this baby is so rare.
meow13 on
Sucks it is rare... I want one.

I've seen this listed by Bluegrape in my Motorhead CD. It's listed along with a shirt for Stillborn.
dungeonvic on
Can you scan that please? PLEASE? :)
BTW, I seem to have located another copy, again in Greece, seen it in a myspace picture, worn by an old thrash/death fan who lives in Athens. 4 copies!

I'll take a pic with my phone and see if I can upload it.

Send me your email. I'll send you a photo and you can upload it.

I have an original Acts of the Unspeakable Autopsy shirt that might be as rare as this, i'll upload it soon.
I also have a Possessed shirt that has only 300 prints and signed by Jeff Beccarra, kind of rare?
CultureOfNone on
incredible shirt. for me, this album was the 'Thriller' of death metal.
Pommesgabel666 on
No, the rarest shirt is the Gig shirt from Pestilence and Autopsy in the early 90´s in UK!
The funny story is, that this concert was canceled, so the shirt never going in public hands!
See one time a shirt at ebay, for over 300 pounds!
The shirt looks awesome, wish, i have one, hehe!

I saw that tour in Cleveland with Obituary, Cannibal Corpse and Agnostic Front. It was my first concert actually. I was 15. I still have my autographed cassette of Retribution and Butchered At Birth. I actually missed MC, which bummed me out because they were the band I wanted to see the most. If there were any Retribution tour shirts, they had sold out by the time the tour hit Cleveland as I had to buy a "Ten Commandments" shirt that was a total piece of shit crooked print job with ink smears and stuff. Fucking Blue Grape.

And let the bidding begin! : D http://bit.ly/jPjWeh

Nope, that's not my shirt. And it says it has tourdates, which would make that one the only copy I know of with tourdates. Shame there is no back picture.
This is the second time I see an original on ebay. The other time was the Belgium copy I mention in the description.
So, 4+1 copies! With this rate, in ten years there will be twenty known copies! What happened with those questions to Brett Hoffman about this design? Apparently there is a tour version, it was on a Blue Grape catalogue but somehow it's nigh impossible to track. Why the hell is that? Maybe all the original owners wore them to hell or don't want to part with them or smth?
