Every time I see pictures from Maryland Death Fest I just can't stop thinking about a wasted potential of those dream line-ups. I might be missing something here but the surroundings, the daylight and this lame as hell stage seems to completely ruin an atmosphere of the fest. Am I totally wrong?
I personally don't like open air festivals. But, MDF also has their indoor shows, which do get really packed. One of my fave perfromances was when My Dying Bride played outdoors, for a band that rarely plays in North America it was a special treat to see them while the clouds gathered, then it started to rain, and it got gloomy, it added a nice feel to it. They have 3 stages outside and two indoor stages. The festival is held in Baltimore which the surroundings can be rough at times. It all adds to the experience, I've been going since 2006 and never missed one since.
