I had a collection of at least 40-50 death metal tour shirts from the era of '92 through '95, all from shows I attended in the Washington DC area. I sold every single one of those shirts in 2003 on eBay, mainly to a single buyer in Japan. I made roughly $700 total in selling all those shirts (to think what I could have made had I kept them another 10-20 years kills me to this day- but I am actually more saddened that I sold most of them at all). Anyway, this shirt is the one single shirt I held on to from my death metal tour collection as it was always my favorite and at the time, I had never seen a death metal band make a shirt quite like this. Everything else was a black long sleeve or t-shirt. I still think it's the coolest CC shirt ever but there is one, equally rare- if not more, that I am looking for and will not be satisfied until I own. I think there's only one of them listed on TShirtSlayer and the owner's not taking offers. It's a very unique Tomb of the Mutilated longsleeve from 93. I would have bought one when I saw them on that tour but I didn't have the $30. It haunts me to this day, missing out on that.
Glad you appreciate this shirt, unfortunately I don't think I will ever part with it given the amount of sentimental value it has and how much I regret selling my other death metal shirts.
Best of luck on your hunt. I think you have a better chance of finding one of these than I do finding the '93 Corpse shirt I am looking for.
I should also mention: The white stain on the sleeve (and there are a few more on that same sleeve that are not visible in the photos) is present on almost all examples of this shirt I have ever seen. I spent years being pissed at my mom, thinking she spilled some bleach on it at some point in the wash until I saw others posted on here with similar white stains on the black sleeves (my shirt has them only on the right sleeve). This leads me to believe these shirts had a defect in the in the black cotton used for the sleeves. It's been so long now I don't recall, but the black die on those few spots probably washed out the first time it went through the wash. I've considered ways to fix this- namely, using black dye, very carefully brushed on those spots, but it's more than likely that upon a first wash after doing this, the black die would bleed and stain the white part of the shirt. I think it's something I'm going to have to live with and I'm more than willing to. It doesn't bother me too much. It's just unfortunate that possibly the coolest Cannibal Corpse shirt ever was defective in this way. So be aware of this if you ever come across one for sale or trade- don't hold it against the seller.
