True but less and less bands care to do demotapes these days, it's all CDRs and even some digital-releases. All my tapes are still working fine, but some CDR demos I bought like 10 or 15 years ago turned unplayable already.

gloriousdeath's picture

yes, true words about CDR...... but some of my old tapes.... i don't dare to play them anymore..... the idea the tape gets sucked into the deck all ready sends shivers up and down my spine haha

yeah tell me about it.. I used to make physical and digital backups of them. But a quality tape deck is def essential. I still need to get a new one though, my old deck acts really strange these days. Last time I tried make an Autopsy mixtape over some old cassette I got, it turned out as Tom Keifer singing "Shake Me" with Chris Reifert's sick drummings in the background. Very mental.

hahaha.... that must have sounded awesome.... glam gore metal hahaha

i try to do the same...and get digital-copys of my demos too. Just in case. I fear the same like gloriousdeath..hahaha

meaningless's picture

same...same...and i give a fuck on digital-releas-only..what a crap. And i have some old CDRs too..with the same problem...
Like old stuff of Dying Embrace from India. ...dont work that well..anymore :(

meaningless's picture

yeah..i still buy demo-tapes..if i have the chance...very nice stuff :)
