Venom/ Slayer ticket stub 1985

.....I'll focus on the Venom/ Slayer ticket stub. The opening band for that evening was Possessed. I ended up missing them but I'd seen them a handful of times before and I knew I'd see them again. Slayer were only able to play nine songs that evening so I believe they were onstage for 45 minutes or less! Venom finally came on and it was just noise. Not the noise from the first two lps but explosions with a huge stage production! Also a large portion of the audience was'nt having it for those who felt like they wanted to thrash. (or mosh if you prefer) You were likely to get punched, smacked, pushed or anything else that was similar! You were running through a gauntlet of people who all had their fists up and aiming for you! And if the security caught you trying to stage dive then you were on your own. They would throw you down onto the floor as hard as they could and then high five each other afterwards! Since it was a wooden floor, you could feel it bounce when the person hit the ground! (plus the security were extra large size individuals) My friends and I were stage diving all throughout Slayer and a bit into Venom's set. The stage was'nt straight across but rather angled out towards the audience on the left and right sides. The center most portion of the stage had a big bike rack in front of it with a bit of room to move behind it. The side stage is where my friend's and I went for our launch over the crowd. Oh yeah, and they would try to punch you as you went over or onto them. Good times! All in all, I was having a blast until I got thrown over the bike rack! I landed on the lower portion of my back so I was momentarily stunned. That's when I felt the security grab me. Damn! I tensed up because I knew the floor was coming to greet me, hard! And then, before I knew it, I was led across the back and out the door! "Hey! My jacket is still in there!", I protested. "So. You can come back later and get it." was the response. "My wallet is also in there!" "Too bad. Good night!" And of course I hurled a lot of useless obscenities which turned out to not be any of the right passwords back inside! One of my friends, who roadied for Possessed, even got booted momentarily. He was able to talk himself back in but no amount of kind words hitched me on to that ride! So I was able to see Venom for twenty minutes that night before I got kicked out! That's the only time that's ever happened to me. I still had fun though!
