GWARticle

Through all the Dave Brockie/Oderus Urungus madness going on this week, I was cleaning out my room and it was so ironic I came across this. This is probably up there with when I refused to see Dio (that's another story) for "Worst Metal Moment"...so it was November and my dad asked me if I wanted to go see GWAR. He said he'd take me and my friend and I was like "Nah, I'll wait till they come back in Spring." Also, the opening acts were shitty (Whitechapel, Iron Reagan). My dad said, "But who cares about the opening acts! It's GWAR!" Well GWAR enjoys Chicago a lot, playing here 3-4 times a year (sometimes even 5) so I figured, "I'll wait till March/April." So March arrives and here we are. Dave has passed and I'm sitting crying a bit as I read this article my dad gave me, written in our paper the Chicago Tribune, about GWAR's last visit with Oderus to Chicago.
