*Hehe* Werde ich tun, wenn ich noch mal in der Gegend unterwegs bin :-) JA absolut geile Scheibe - ich feiere die auch heute noch so hart! Eine der most underrated bands!
Sure, but pop isn't so much a music genre but a style of performing and presenting various genres. MJ mixed hard funk, r'n'b, rock, metal guitar solos, disco, electronic music, orchestral and other elements into something that appealled to a huge audience. Songs like Thriller or Blood on the Dancefloor have more rock in them than some über-technical death metal bands. Plus, his attire was styled to lock "rock", probably with a nod to Elvis' leather-wearing period. Hence, it's fitting that at the time of this magazine his merch was featured alongside metal bands.
