Benediction - The Dreams You Dread - RARE version of the album!
I bought this one when it came out in 1995. I always loved the band, and when this album came out, I lucked into this version. It is a black jewel case with the band logo and the name of the album actually embossed onto the case. The original booklet is inside the jewel case. Has anyone else seen one of these? Can anyone tell me why this pressing is so special, or how limited it is?

I remember seeing it back in the day or in second hand stores from time to time. I thik that the whole "embossed" thing is the one that makes it special and limited. Great album by the way!!!

It was the first press of this album, which all stores had here. Everywhere. There is no special amount like 'only 1000' or 'only 3000' or something.
No idea how many the first press had :) But fuck it..its a fucking great album! I have the promo - i should buy it as original one too :P

Fantastic band, album and edition!! First time i see it too.
I have a Moonsorrow album that is like this one, a black jewelcase with the band logo embossed on the jewelcase.
It's a cool way of making special editions, and also quite uncommon, more bands should do it!

I did a search in my collection and i found that i own the next albums in the same edition (not necessaraly death metal albums):

I also have MACHINE HEAD - The Burning Red (Red jewel case with the Machine Head diamond embossed) & BIOHAZARD - State of the World Address (yellow jewel case with the Biohazard sign embossed). So yes, it was a good way for bands to create a special edition of their new album.
