Too many random collections of stuff in the 'tshirt' section
Hi All,
so the other thing that's annoying me greatly is that there's a trend recently to upload say same band but like a tshirt, stickers, a cd, and other stuff all in one post, then mark it as 'tshirt'...
this really is not what the gallery is for, the gallery is for tshirts and battlejackets, then everything else.
please decide carefully what section it should be in, i want to stop people from being lazy and not uploading just the tshirt, that's the whole point of this site.
sorry if i delete your posts but that's the rules, the tshirt section is for tshirts.
perhaps we need some new functionality, like if you upload a tshirt and a cd from the same show then you need to somehow link them in your posts.. maybe you can be able to say "this post and this post are related" through some dropdown or something
but in any case, please dont post collections of stuff to the tshirt/battlejacket/other collections (cds etc), it needs to be one item per post, this will come in very important over the next year as we slowly introduce some machine learning systems to tshirtslayer to help compare different items, also in most cases, people who post items like this often post multiple bands to one item...

now the real question is, what about people who post their battle jacket and use records as the backgrounds.

I think with action shot they want you to be on the picture, not necessary your records. Or you with your records together.

Yeah, seems reasonable. He just told me in a message, these should perhaps be put to Actonshots then. But i am just still not sure what rule applies to what shot. But i guess this will very soon be cleared.

Personally I feel the t-shirt section should only be single shirt posts. That way you can clearly see and appreciate the artwork. I fully understand what Doc's on about as there have been posts of shirt collections where you can barely make out any of the individual shirts as they are overlapping ect.
I can understand people wanting to show a whole collection of one bands shirts at once as it can be impressive, so I don't know, maybe a sub section for band collections or something where you could post photos of your dedication to certain bands with a photo of cd's, shirts, vinyl, patches ect in the one post.

Yeah, very good idea. I also perfectly see Doc's point but it would just be a bit sad if You cannot post collections anymore.
So a new section for collections / dedications / random photos that are n o t action shots would be a good solution i think

By the way: I would absolutely welcome a function that ensures new Items You got in a trade get listed as NEW items, so at the top. Otherwise i am always tempted to upload the stuff again seperately.

Well i actually have no problem with uploading the stuff again, it would just be a nice Extra Feature. I just do not really like to have these "old" entries in my Database, hehe

Since some people have fucking big collections they like to show as a whole before posting every thing with single posts, maybe a "collection"-section could be an idea. Also for posts incl. patches, stickers and other stuff that's not shirts oder battle vests, the option of choosing more than one section (maybe 2 or 3 at a time) would be a solution, e.g. you post patches, CD and stickers you bought at a show.

That's a true point, still I would consider the somekind of collection-section with strict rules that it means real collections dedicated to a band and so on. On the other hand action shots normally work pretty fine to show something like this.
About the junk-problem that's really a problem because I bet my sorry ass that enough people doing this kind of posts will try to get away with 'I didn't know'. Maybe you should add example-pictures of what is ok and what leads to getting your ass kicked fore those ones who can't read properly.

Example pictures are a very good idea, like : Allowed: Picture 1, 2 , 3 - Not allowed: Picture 4, 5, 6.
Best to do it as part of the rules or as a new fixed thread i guess.

How I've uploaded them together, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and think you'd like me to do them individual?
As for Devout Records stickers, I would mark them as "other collectable" unless you want to make a stickers button, But as for the band section you told me in chat long ago record label names are ok in that field though its not a band.

As You know i can understand Your point , but "unrelated junk" can very well also be a careful chosen collection of records someone wants to present to others.
For Sale: No question, that is not the idea, thses should be single posts only.

I received a shirt (that was worn on the festival on that certain day) as a gift in one package with accreditation card (from that festival) and a letter. I should take a photo of each thing separately, even though it perfectly rounds it up all together?
Or for another example, I received a shirt with a letter that proves who was it's previous owner. These kind of uploads are unacceptable as well?

Yeah, I understand completely about those unrelated posts.
Even when I uploaded my shit here I was thinking if I should separate them, but since these things were all connected to each other I thought that no one would mind to see them all together.
From now on, one unit per upload in shirts, LP's/CD's/Tapes and "Other collectable" then!
