Mitja was guitar-tech for rytmihairio @ sakara tour/turku and Janne who plays guitar in rytmihairio/live in moonsorrow asked me to come drinking at the backstage with the guys and Mitja was there too! it was so unreal!
Awesome! Mostly... But I don't like the vertical Destruction patch on the back, and also the vertical Iced Earth, though the latter wouldn't bother me if the Destruction wasn't there...
The vertical Motörhead looks good and the Maiden I had at least sewed on the other way round.
You see, I'm generally not a big fan of vertical patches...
4/5 and without the vertical Destruction it would be 5/5.
Man I love your work whatever rearrangements you make.
I must agree with CryptKeeper though- I think something like the Sepultura patch would work better than the Destruction on vertically- and I'm not generally fond of vertical patches, though the Iron Maiden and Motorhead ones work deliciously well.
I do understand what you mean, but If I was to switch them, the destruction patch would be off-centered because of the iced earth logo. Do you think that would look stupid? I could do it tho. Let me know : )
I also have a sort of far-fetched Idea but if someone could give me a pointer that would be great. there's this Asphyx backpatch that matches the one on the front of my vest: http://www.officialabyssrecords.com/product_info.php?products_id=8860
would it look dumb if i got it and covered the ensiferum viking logo with it? Just wondering....
Considering that the asphyx logo (witch is awesome) is 12,5" x 9" and the ensiferum back patch is 12"x15", also taking in consideration that you already overlapped it with the forbidden and Moonsorrow patches both above and below... i doubt that it would look good.
Unless you would consider re-arranging your entire back.
Getting rid of the impending doom patch and removing the buttons and side straps from the waste belt and lowering the moonsorrow patch you could fit the asphyx logo.
I'm a little worried about the shape of the patch in relation to the protruding sword blade and axe handle but you could cover that up with other patches.
Yeah I think the only way in which to avoid having the protruding blade and axe would be to remove the backpatch all together (which would be annoying due to the overlapping patches), then cut off the viking and sew the Asphyx backpatch on from there.
Then you'd be able to sew the viking onto a bag or something, heheh- but I'm not sure if it'll look effective.
I made a mock up in photoshop what it would look like.
*I moved the At War patch a bit further to the right
*korpiklaani patch overlaps
*moved moonsorrow patch a bit further down
*removed Impending doom
*placed Impending doom paralel to the virtical line in the asphyx logo.
thanks man :) it's a hobby...I'm just glad abyssal records photographs their merchendise instead of scanning, it would have been alot harder to get that crumpled look in there.
Why the impending doom patch? I don't like deathcore, but I'm not one to get all bent out of shape about it. It just seems very out of place considering all the other bands on the jacket!

Well I had to make the decisions about having vertical patches to fill space on the sides. Plus they look alot cooler when it's worn. But thanks!

I don't like power metal but the front of the jacket looks so good.
Anyway good jacket man ;)

Ah yeah personally I think it'd look better the way it is, rather than with an off-centered Destruction patch.
