Nice, I have that exact Coldworld patch. What do you like by Midnight Odyssey? I gave them a shot a while back but found the songs to be a little too "synthy" for me (almost dungeon synth like).

Ive gotta lot to say about this vest.

I give u huge props for putting my fav band Tiamat up on top 1#. thats way cool... and then there is the Midnight Odyssey patch. Thats a mindblowing combo. I cant think of anyone beside myself who is so fond of both Tiamat and Midnight Odyssey.

Conversely though I loathe nsbm like noktrunal mortuum and hate that patch, but then you put it right next to a Panopticon patch??? Im not a huge fan of Panopticon's sound, but I really am right alongside them in their socio-political stance. I would say im surprised you fell comfortable enough wearing these two polar opposite political bands side by side. The whole conflict in the scene of nazis vs anti-nazis is pretty intense.

Tiamat is a great band and one of the best logos. Also, yep, I like both because they are both pretty interesting and atmospheric.

I understand why you would feel that way and it is true that NM held rather radical views in the past, but please, read their newer interviews and you will see their state of mind has changed quite a bit since then. https://frostkamp.wordpress.com/2008/08/05/nokturnal-mortum-interview/

The singer even released a statement that said "they had no interest in political tendencies and had never viewed Nokturnal Mortum as a political band." The basic concept to me is that of a patriotic Ukrainian Pagan Metal band.

Also, I know most of the controversy comes from the album "Weltanschauung," which I don't listen to.

Either way, as you can see from recent media, celebrities and artists can be douchebags too. I don't worship them in any way and see them as separate from the music.

A lot of my oppinions about nm came from his work in the obviously named band aryan terrorism. Just read the lyrics of that project. that shit doesnt go away easy im sure of it. Even then I long ago got tired of the same old ultra patriotic band nonsense. Because bands and their music is international and thousands of people who live in other places around the world listen to that. I dont think its bad to celebrate your culture, but the heavy slant to saluting your country and taking stong feelings that you guys are the most important clan in the world is just too dirty for me to give much attention to these days. It so quickly can devolve into groupthink patriotism and eventually the judgement of all other people as less than equal to you. Rich fuckers play power games and get people slaughtered like that. If the social darwinists have their way humanity would use war and violence to keep itself in check until something would destroy us or our world outright. Thats not a solution. Nationalism is not a solution anymore. Humans are too elaborate and complex for a one-set moraity, culture etc.

I completely agree with you. Especially as an American, I am very accepting of other culturals and extremely left, much like Panopticon. (I identify as a democratic socialist.) However, I can easily separate music from the artists, especially when the artists have apologized and the two albums I listen to have no lyrics pertaining to those old ideals. I think people can change ( i.e. American History X), and who am I to doubt the sincerity. Though I will not listen to bands who are openly NSBM. They can go fuck themselves. But when it comes to bands like NM and Drudkh, who I have on the front of this jacket, who have denied claims, I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Though I will say, at least, NSBM bands are not usually actively attacking anyone physically that we know of (though I still hate them) unlike bands like Lostprophets. Not metal but still.
