Canadian Metal head for life...Alice Cooper "Love it to Death" was the first record I bought when I was 7 years old...I'm 47 now and over 3000 LPs later, not including cassettes, cds, or 8 tracks...Thanks to my family I was raised on "rock and roll" and psychedelic shit, and I still like all the classic stuff like Iron Butterfly, Hendrix, Sabbath, Purple. By the time I was 10 just like so many kids at the time I was totally obsessed with KISS...then soon into NWOBHM like Priest, Maiden etc...first patch I bought was the classic Led Zeppelin logo when I was 14 years old, I hand stitched it on my old, worn out, ragged levis jean jacket myself because my mom wanted me to throw it out and buy a new one...needless to say I refused. Soon I discovered punk/metal bands like the Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Damned, Venom, Motorhead, and then came the first big thrash metal bands like Kreator, Metallica, Slayer, Destruction, Sodom followed by all things heavy and hardcore. I have diverse musical tastes but will always be an old school metal head at heart.
Lived in Toronto and Montreal for many years and have seen way too many shows...sometimes 2 or 3 in one night...Montreal has an amazing music scene and metal is #1...Heavy Mtl is a great festival, so is Amnesia...there are awesome shows all year long!
