Many years ago when I was much younger I once bought an actual Timeghoul demo off some guy in Germany for a mere 10 dollars. Back then I had no idea what I was getting. Someone had told me that the band was the first deathmetal group to use gothic keyboards (seriously I asked on MA what was the first band to use goth themes and someone said Timeghoul!) I did not like what I heard as a collector of goth metal so I sold off the tape for 8 bucks. Now I seriously regret it as for this band is now highly desirable apparently.

That's too bad you don't have it anymore. Which one was it? Tumultuous travelings, or Panaramic twilight? I like the last one the best. It's hard to define their music but to be honest, goth is not something that I would think of. Atmospheric death metal is the term that's been used by a bandmember. Maybe you should give the Panaramic twilight a try!

It was Tumultuous Travelings. During that time I was young and I wanted to find the first 'gothic' extreme metal band. I dont know why someone told me Timeghoul was the one to get. I love gothic themes in metal, not the danceble hot topic vairety, but the doom death symphonic variety with classical art references. And I love when that theme is applied ot more extreme forms of metal.
My partner is a big fan of Timeghoul so I imagine I will get to hear both the tapes again in the future.

I don't really know about gothic stuff to be honoust, but if I may recommend some killer death/doom to you I would say: Sempiternal Deathreign, Ascended, Hooded Menace. Is your partner on this site? I need someone to give this one 5 flames to compensate your 3 ofcourse. ;)

Fucking NICE!! This band was extremely talented and unique. I just bought a Timeghoul combo off some distro a few days ago actually. It's a shirt, CD, and the records. I can't wait for this one! In the mean time I'm just going to stare at your shirt a little... haha O_o
