Anarcho Pagan Black Metal. I like this shirt, simple, moody and effective. Haven't heard the band but i'm aware of them. Continuing the American tradition of using runes haha. Any idea what it says?

The wunjo rune can be a v or a w. So in fact the word says "oblivion" in english language. The runes are elder futhark,Freyrs Aett. The only thing that is incorrect in the writing is the use of the N and G runes, which should actually be written as a Ingwaz (NG), but the record label made a mistake and printed the wrong design. But it says "wandering into oblivion" either way.

Exactly. You've studied your runes. Using the elder futhark to spell English doesn't work right much of the time, it's like trying to write English with the German alphabet.

In their defence though, runic use was not much standardized... leading to several different ways to spell words, unrestricted by orthography. The younger futhark is even "worse" at this - one rune for G and K, one rune for B and P, one rune for D and T. Distinct characters like Jera, Ing, and some vowels are dropped. Leading to some very interesting phonetic-informed spelling variations on runic inscriptions from the viking age era - probably the closest we come to actually 'hearing' their own Old Norse accents.
As for the shirt, 5 flames for Panopticon - their Pagan Flames label has a good eye for spotting obscure talent.
