Awesome shirt and album! This is a rather underrated gem. "Smile" and "All Is Well" are my favorite songs from Chapter 13.

Thanks man! Definitely underrated. I have to say, I've listened to this one more than Mindloss, Rise to Ruin and La Muerte combined!

I honestly think that Gorefest blended Rock 'N Roll with Death Metal better than Entombed did. That's not to say Wolverine Blues isn't one of my favorite albums in my collection; Gorefest just had their own unique twist to it. The album that got me started on Gorefest was "Soul Survivor". The funny thing is I never knew they played Brutal Death Metal, à la Cannibal Corpse, until I bought Mindloss. Their whole discography is really good, though. Jan-Chris is a really talented vocalist. I was surprised to hear he still sounded like he did 13 years ago when La Muerte came out. Normally many vocalist wear-out later on in their career, but JC has the lung capacity of a damn whale, haha.

Yeah, they both had their own twists on the "Death 'n Roll" sound. Entombed had more of a raw punk/rock sound. I think the Gorefest stuff is more traditional-metal sounding. As much as I love Entombed, I'm pretty sure Soul Survivor and CH13 outplayed Wolverine Blues and To Ride...by quite a lot. You're right, I don't think JC lost a beat at all through the years. Instantly recognizable.

Yeah, I remember JC in an interview mentioning something about getting his "vocals" back after a few songs during practice when the band started jamming again. I suppose the comradery just wasn't there when Chapter 13 came out. A lot of clashing heads when it comes to an artistic vision can be a bad thing at times. JC said it had a lot to do with stubbornness and egos within the band, getting in the way which led to the split. The crazy part is that kind of stuff usually happens in bands where you'd least expect it.

For example, what happened in the Entombed camp. I'm not exactly sure what happened there. I read somewhere that Alex isn't in any of the biographies that's been sent to the record labels. I'm assuming maybe Entombed A.D. is an entirely new project? My guess is some of the members didn't have rights to the name. Kind of like Great White and Jack Russell's Great White. Anyway, I saw clips of the Clandestine orchestra and it was fantastic. A lot of fans didn't like it, but I loved it.

I was kind of struck by surprise with this news. This is the kind of stuff I'd expect from a more commercial selling band, not from a band like Entombed. I saw Entombed A.D. in the poll for most anticipated album of the year list. However, I voted for Mushroomhead, haha. I didn't see them on the list until after I placed my vote. Best album of the year, or not I'm sure Entombed A.D. will be kick-ass.

I'm not quite sure what happened to GF during the second breakup. I was in touch with Ed, Frank and Boud before and after...they didn't mention too much about it and I didn't want to press them for info. They said they "had done all they could do musically" but, I know there were some personal differences between the guys. I haven't spoken with any of them in quite a while (not a Bookface guy at all) but last time I talked to Frank, he was doing well and enjoying playing with Ed in 11th Hour. Some of the nicest "band guys" I've ever met, anyways.

I'm clueless about the current state of Entombed, and to be honest...I could care less. I'm still a huge fan of everything up to and including Morning Star; Their releases after that, in my opinion, are complete garbage. Horrible recordings, uninspired riffs, too much filler, cheesy lyrics and cringe-worthy vocals. It's like they stopped caring. Entombed will always be one of my all-time favorite bands, but I won't force myself or pretend to like the half-assed material they've been dishing out since Inferno. The only thing Entombed related I'd love to see is a reunion between Uffe & Nicke. I'd probably shit my pants if those two started playing together again :-)
