ur general not that much into hardcore stuff..or just only SOIA?
gloriousdeath on
well i like old uk hardcore punk a lot... also like US bands... problem is: SOIA, Slapshot and all those bands were really popular where i live... and i really didn't want to get involved in that scene back then....

Do you remember the Dutch punk band Funeral Oration from Amsterdam? They were somewhat hardcore punk in the beginning, but evolved into sort of a melodic, Bad Religion style later on...
gloriousdeath on
i know the name.... can't remember if i ever heared something of them..... btw i do like old Dutch hardcore punk bands like Balthazar Gerards Kommando, Pandemonium, Lärm, Vopos etc.

They've been around since '81 or so, but didn't put out anything other than vinyl until 1995-ish. One of my all-time favorite bands...definitely an acquired taste.
gloriousdeath on
ah, just checked it... i like the old stuff.....
Hot Karl on
Yeah, I figured the older stuff would be more your kind of thing. I'm the opposite...I'm a sucker for the catchy, melodic stuff. Guilty pleasure :-)

ah..ok. Well..i like them both :P SOIA and also the old Slapshot stuff. Best Hardcore Band (for me) from Netherlands, were Backfire ..haha.. The very old stuff, no idea how they sounds now..or how the last few releases sound like. But as they started they were fucking Brutal for a Hardcore-band.
