# 18 - Borrowed Time - Arcane Metal Arts

Today I'm a little later and due to limited time I'll try to make it short here.

These are some newcomers I just accidently came across.. I ordered something I don't remember at Dying Victims and saw the cover of this single I also put on the picture. The artwork is so cool, I just bought it without listening to it before.

They are probably rather well known since they are on Highroller now and played at KIT, but I just had to mention them here.

I was totally amazed by the song Fog in the Valley, because the riffs are totally catchy, vocals and lyrics a little obscure .. probably the most played 7" in my collection!
Arcane Metal Arts is the collection of their demos.

1. Burning Mistress
2. Out of the Forest
3. Necropolis (Manilla Road cover)
4. Sailor on the Seas of Fate
5. Fog in the Valley
6. Midnight Tygers

None of this songs is weak I think. At first I thought very sceptical about the Necropolis cover. One of my absolute favorite songs of Manilla Road.
I think the singer, J. Priest, did a nice job on this and I enjoy the song very much.

Another song I want to give a special mention is the damn mighty Sailor on the Seas of Fate.. after a nice intro there is a great up-tempo with little small passages and incredible high pitched screams.

Since I was inactive for nearly 1 year, I have unfortunately not bought their first full-length album yet. It was released in the end of 2013 on Highroller. Besides the cool cover artworks, I know only the song Of Nymph and Nihil from youtube, but MAN, this sounds fucking promising. On YT there is also a Savage Grace cover of BOUND TO BE FREE. Again these guys picked one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, but here they did an even better job. The new album is definitively the #1 on my have-to-buy list.
If you don't know them yet, give them a listen and support those guys!

Yeah, I really like these guys, "Of Nymph and Nihil" is really outstanding track on the LP, the rest aren't as memorable as this, "Dawn for the Glory Rider" and "Titan's Chain", but that doesn't mean the whole album is mediocre, I'd suggest getting it, really worth the money.
But my favourite song is definitely "Sailor on the Seas of Fate", it just sounds so... ancient... like a True music, travelling from far to You, one of a kind.

Missing this "Fog..." 7', hope to get it for a decent price.

That's what I mean - this track is totally outstanding. Their self-description as "arcane heavy metal" is probably the best way to name this.
