Lo and behold! I found a 3rd variant of this patch. All 3 differ somewhat in size, border, color and backing. The middle one is the new one.

The most noticable differences between the 3 examples: The one one the left has a quite sloppy border. The middle one is rectangular, not square. The one on the right has a somewhat golden tone to the weaving and the backing is really stiff.
