Yes, I sincerely adore this band! I used to enjoy them as a weird novelty. The effortless and catchy riffing helped me to become a serious fan. The uniqueness of vision and total lack of artifice in its presentation helped me to become a fully committed Nuit-nerd!
This photo pictures about 99% of my current NN collection. There are quite a few really big holes yet to be filled, but I intend to fill them or go bankrupt trying. I am too lazy to list every single item pictured, but it's all there to be picked out for anyone inclined to do so.
A few items are duplicates, as I ordered some copies in a lot from the artist, despite already owning other copies. He was nice enough to sign several of the items I ordered from him upon request (The split with Call Me Loretta, the split with His Electro Blue Voice, the Furïbond Elegance 7", the Pleine Lune cassette and the CD version of The Gigantic Hideout).

Impressive collection of a really unique (as much as this term is [ab]used) musician, cool! Still find the music strange though. :D

Thanks. The music is pretty strange, yes. That's part of its charm for me, though. :]

The black metal scene needs more weirdos with artistic vision and less Bathory worshiping fronters desperately trying to cling on to an era they where to young to experience anyway.
It's been a while since I heard the band, but I really enjoy Infantile Espieglery. Such a delightfully quirky and (to use an even more abused term) atmospheric album.

Agreed. I am very tired of the trends and phony hype regarding so many abysmally mediocre unintentional parodies of 1st wave bands (who are no different from "pizza thrash" bands who think it's still 1984 in my mind), Darkclones, and bestial/war metal bandwagon-jumpers alike. It's not that there's anything inherently wrong with imitating a style or a particular aesthetic. It just seems like too many of these groups are more interested in trying to edge in on the "cultural phenomenon" than with actually expressing anything worthwhile. And don't even get me started black metal's favorite buzzword, "ATMOSPHERIC"!
PS: Is there a way to turn off the fast browsing "swipe" function on here? I am constantly trashing my replies by mistake when I try to select text in an effort to edit them... It's starting to drive me crazy.

Sometimes it really works when a band plays it safe and does what others have done before. Provided they do it with enough conviction and at least try to put their own spin on it. But more often than not it seems like the only goal is to copy the most shallow and predictable aspects of the "golden 80's" that it almost becomes a caricature more so than a sincere tribute.
And yeah I agree on "atmospheric" being used to the point of having no meaning anymore. But if it fits it fits.

Yes! Perfectly sums up what i myself think about this incredible band. A very nice collection you have. Cheers.

Thank you. I always enjoy hearing from fellow fans. I understand how polarizing Nuit Noire tends to be, and it's not very often that I find people as excited about them as I am.
