Why so rare? It never had the wide distribution and publishing muscle of a Kerrang! or a Metal Hammer and simply didn't sell as many copies.
Also, it's roots were in the harder side of things and shoehorning in the hair metal meant it then fell between two stools whereas the other metal mags were always more varied so the readership expected that mix.
Started off as more of an independent 'zine too. I have issue one here:
