Yes ! My favorite Metal Forces cover all-time ! Sadly I lost this issue. Still searching. Can't say enough about this band. I always wish myself good luck when trying to find early stuff of theirs.
CroManAba on
Yea, that Metal Forces is my 2nd copy. I lost my first one too and I got it way back in the early days. I agree it is the ultimate MF cover along with the Mantas issue. I have more Fate to post I just wanted to get it started but I cant hardly find s*** out there on early Fate. It never seems to pop up for sale- don't get it?
sodom26 on
Love the additions. Especially the black & white centerfold.

Thanks again mang. Tons of KD out there but so little early original Fate it baffles me-
Metal Militia
Awesome Mercyful Fate collection!

Thank you man, still a work in progress. Hoping for some new rarities soon!

Awesome additions ! Love that classic centerfold. Timi Hansen wearing the famous Record Vault t-shirt. Never saw this one before. Very difficult to obtain early Mercyful Fate. I bet there are a lot of Danish magazines from the 80's that have coverage If you can find them. Can't really say I know the whereabouts of any other centerfolds or posters. Nice to see these. Really great collection !

Thanks again man, it's unfortunate that you rarely see any color posters/ ctrflds featuring the original band. It seems they are overlooked in favor of King simply because of the make up. Like I said, I only know of one other ctrfld that I don't yet have that features the other band members. And to be honest, I really didn't follow or like the King Diamond solo stuff. Pretty much just Melissa and Don't Break the Oath for me.
sodom26 on
I hear you. I think it was a clash of interest as King always kept and stayed true to his image whereas other members preferably would constantly dress in flamboyant tiger striped spandex. Although it never bothered me personally, I'm sure it did have something to do with them disbanding. I know it has been mentioned during interviews. Such a shame. Those two albums and the e.p. were absolute masterpieces. What a unique sound. Really haunting yet melodic guitarwork. There will never be another King Diamond....those vocals ! Thanks so much for posting these. There is that ' Don't Break The Oath ' 84 tour poster that would look great in our collections.

Good stuff man!

Hell Yeah (said with King Diamond Falsetto!). Amazing display of vintage Mercyful Fate stuff \m/ Would love the Melissa poster for in my house! Not sure if my girlfriend would dig that hahaha.

Ha! Thanks man- yea my place is beginning to look like a shrine to the Unholy one with all this Metal memorabilia on display.

One of my favorite posts of yours. I love the black & white pin-up above the ' Melissa ' LP. Amazing overall !
CroManAba on
Thanks man, I wish that shot was a full pin-up but it's just a photo from the previous page article but obviously very early and very cool. I also just got that "Gateway to Hell" article/centerfold up toward the top It's kind of hard to see them but the entire band is featured in that centerfold. King's makeup design was obviously still in a developmental stage.

WOW!!! No words! You're correct regarding the small amount of posters of Mercyful Fate - it's mostly King Diamond. I myself have maybe a couple from this post. Now, if we can both get that "Don't Break the Oath" '85 Tour poster with Mass... One of my most wanted.
CroManAba on
Hey man, that "Don't Break the Oath" tour poster just sold today for around $275 on Ebay. Were you in on that?
invisible-horizons
I was in on that, but was outbid. I had no idea it was going to sell for that high of a price. I know it's a really rare poster, but damn, that would of broke the bank for me. I've already been spending too much as of late anyway. Better luck next time. One thing I noticed about the poster is that the bottom part where it shows the date, city, and venue was cut from the poster. Are there two versions of this poster, one with and one without the show date?
I tried getting that Nuclear Assault - Handle with Care poster as well.
CroManAba on
I was just a spectator on this auction but was also shocked at the final price. I assumed it was cut off at the bottom and therefore "altered" so I didn't bid. I was going to ask the seller but didn't get around to it. Like you said that would've broke the bank and I'm not willing to pay top dollar for something that I think someone might have taken a pair of scissors to.
invisible-horizons
Exactly! It wasn't in the best of shape either. I've won a couple of good auctions in the last couple weeks. I'll make some posts as soon as I find the time.

Sounds good, I'll check in on your page.

Acid Bath
Just great , also have don’t break tattooed
CroManAba on
Thanks again man- still love the first 2 Fate records!
“Melissa” still my fave!
Acid Bath
Me too but It doesn’t translate as well to a tattoo . I got Melissa and show now mercy in 83 when I was 10 because I like the covers. Changed my life . The next year welcome to hell and at war with satan . It was over . Still collecting . When I would listen to melissa in the car as a young boy I would have to turn it all the way down when king sang the word satan or my mom would crack me upside the head . Needless to say I took a lot of beatings . Well worth it
On a side note I always hated Michael denners pants
CroManAba on
Hell Yea Acid Bath, I can genuinely understand and relate to your experiences! I bought Melissa and Show No Mercy right when they came out as well, however I was 13. And of course I had heard of VENOM but their records were not easily attainable back then so I had to wait a year and got both Welcome to Hell and Black Metal on Christmas. Someone in my family had to go to the import section at a Hasting's in the mall with a list to obtain my poison. I also got Hellhammer Apocalyptic Raids in that bundle as well. Crazy to think that my mother or older sister probably had to go through this!
Michael Denner's pants- I think King had an issue with them as well, ha!!!
