My collection of metal books.
I know you guys on here don't like Marilyn Manson but I got it as a present and I still consider it metal so please don't rate it 1 flame beacuse of it.
White line fever - Lemmy Kilmister's autobiography
The long hard road out of hell - Marilyn Manson's autobiography
Lords of Chaos - A history of black metal in norway.
Blod eld död (Blood fire death) - The history of metal in Sweden.
I had the heavy metal bible but it was shit so I threw it away.
Please recomend other metal books I should get after reading these.

Kick ass man, I read that Manson book myself and it's entertaining as all hell.

It's the only one of them I have read yet and yeah it was a fun read.
mayhempunk666 on
is there an english version of Blod eld död?
diamondmaster93 on
I don't think so but it is quite new so maybe it will be translated.
Ironhead on
I heard that a translation will be released later. Luckily.

Great books!
MM was entertaining even if i dont like them as a group.
Blod eld svärd is being translated as we speak,
a cool thing: Me an RILLE666 is quoted in the chapter about Morbid and Pelle listed as Nils Gullbrandsson & Rikard Synstad :)=
That Lemmy book is great!
I havent read lord of chaos, is it any good?
I can recommend Slash, the dirt (Mötley Crüe) and I am OZZY
all funny as hell (especially OZZY) even if you (like me) dont like guns n roses!

Ah you had already answered about the translation of Blod Eld Död. Definitely waiting for that as I think my Swedish isn't good enough to read a book like that! Lords of Chaos was okay, don't think it really gave anything 'new' though. I have actually read that MM book too and it was quite a morbid one, which I like.

Well, to be fair, Lords of Chaos was published in 1998 before most of the documentaries were made and before many people knew of the origins of the black metal scene in Norway. So, back then, it was giving something new to a lot of people.

Ah, true. I think I read it in 2007 and didn't really think that much now when I wrote that comment.

The rockdetector series of books are quite informative, they cover every thing from death metal to power metal in a-z format available on, Cherry red books online, written by Garry sharpe- young.

also...Hell Bent for Leather: Confessions of a Heavy Metal Addict by, Seb Hunter, is a very honest and funny read.
