The seal is loose and the filters expiration date was 30 years ago, so no i can't use it for it's original purpose hehe. I should indeed put a new filter on, i've heard old filters can be a health hazard.
Yes, you definitely should.
I believe that some filters of that era contained asbestos.
It won't kill you right away, but you should get rid of it as soon as you can if you do suspect that they may contain asbestos.
