Coil Painted Leather Vest

This is my painted leather vest. I have painted it multiple times but I’m pretty happy with how it looks now. I plan to make a new painted leather vest or jacket next. The current and final design is the first two pictures in this post, with Coil, NWW, and Mystifier. The first version was the Current 93 theme. Second was the Sabbat, Blasphemy, and Mystifier theme. Those are raccoon jaw bones.

Material and construction details:

The paint I used was Angelus leather paint in white and hot pink. For the designs I used a combination of using stencils (made from cut adhesive vinyl, cut using a Cricut machine) and hand painting. The studs on the front were placed before painting that panel pink. I painted a base coat of white before the pink.

The original vest looked quite different. I ended up cropping it and reattaching the bottom panels of the vest after. I cut open the sides and added grommets and laced them with chains. That was inspired by my other leather vest that came with that detail. I will post that vest some other time. I added a grommet at each shoulder to attach the chains across the back.
