I was about to start a leather backpatch that will be engraved with the design.
Right as I prep my workspace, I only then considered that the cut of leather I purchased is 4mm thick! The thickness seems ideal for tooling it, but, by upside down christ, how will that feel on the back?
Should I get a thinner sheet, or will 4mm feel fine?
Tl;dr: what thickness of leather is sensible for a backpatch?
